That train platform would be a game changer too. I was really impressed on my first visit that Ballarat has this stadium and hopefully in the future they can make it a real feature walking from your car or train through the precinct.
Need to do something about parking. Pretty much next door heading back towards the fwy there's a massive empty site with old rusty fencing. Wonder if the owner wants to sell it. Apparently people do park there sometimes so I've been told.
Apologies yes thee cricket club. The sign on thee cricket pavilion says north Ballarat roosters so I just assumed. Perfect placement for new stand. I don't remember the ground orientation being like that. The goals were behind the scoreboard not kicking to the hill. Am I right or did I have too...
First time going to mars stadium. Have to say what a great experience. Was packed out and definitely needs more another stand. I'd like them to keep the hill though and wrap the stand around the other side past the scoreboard. Plenty of pop up bars and toilets wherever you are. Had a look at the...
They should never have went for thee Olympics if they're not willing to spend money. What a disaster and an embarrassment really. I suppose, atleast that Old premier was having a crack. Would have got this done
Obv influential league people will try to push for number 2. But with number 1 they can then recoup any loss by bulldozing the Gabba and using the space to make $
I don't really care about the Olympics or where it is but I just wanted the lions to have a new stadium. I wonder if they do build them a stadium on a different location. From funds allocated from elsewhere. Maybe the state government will also chip in more than usual because they've screwed...
Enjoyed reading this 👍
Number 5. Is one of the really interesting points of conversation. It seems no matter how hard people try to explain and confirm that the money being allocated is not from the healthcare fund and regardless of stadium build, will not be going to healthcare it's just money...
How petty are the people of 'the North' if they just abandoned the team because they are so unlucky to finally have their own team and have to watch Tas v GC at their own stadium lol. Every supporter has had to watch their team play lower drawing teams. The people of Launceston should sell the...
Thanks for the clarification. Grubby politics by the mayor. Hard to believe they only found out after they started though. Would have thought there would be some type of contract surely. But seems like it all worked out for them and supporters who find the travel easy enough.
I've always found the giants facilities history a little murky, confusing and not that well reported on. I know alot will disagree. Could well be my ignorance. I thought they were still in Rooty Hill or Blacktown wherever they started. Then travelling game day to the showgrounds stadium (Giants...
Oh really! I didn't know that. 3 regional over 1 state seems unique? But I like it if it works for Tas. I guess not everything that's proven to work on the mainland will work for Tas. Can't believe there's anyone in the No camp. Even these FT and PT academy positions will be creating jobs for...
The money the AFL will pour into the state at grassroots should swing the pendulum back. May have already lost a generation (a good %) to other sports because Demetriou wanted GWS and GC first. It'll take 15 yrs to reverse the cycle. But once the Tas Academy (if they have one) or TAS Coates...
