Yeah I threw some chairs around the room, kicked my dog and then lost it completely and hit that button. But I wasn't angry enough to start a topic whinging about people not caring about someone no-one had ever heard of before yesterday. It seems she's thrown away two careers because 'that's her...
Those people aren't hypocrites at all. A higher profile player has more influence and should be taken more seriously whether you agree with them or not.
You're outraged for the sake of being outraged.
Kirsti, isn't it in fact doping to take any substance that allows your body to perform above it's natural level, 'normal' foods aside?
Couldn't agree more.
See, this is where you're losing support. The question was "Will the AFL allow women to play in the men's competition and vice versa? Why not?". The answer to the first question is 'No', and the answer to the second is 'Because it's a gender based sport, like most'.
I'd be all for women and men...
There won't be a 'good enough' female in our lifetime because men and women are physically different and AFL and most sport is based on that difference. In the future, with chemical modification, that may change but sport isn't about chemical modification, is it.
You also need to take a look at my original comments and use them in context. My original point was as stated above, which wasn't that the thread title should be changed.
BTW, we see thread titles altered all the time (daily) in here to better reflect the discussion.
I'm not on my high horse. YOUR title is YOUR title or did that feminist (look at the name of the site - womensagenda.com.au) magazine post in here under your name?. Now, if you want to use my comments in context, I was replying to a poster that said "What I don't understand is why those who...
I'll say it again; he chose the title, typed it out and posted it. He could just have easily typed 'Here's Proof That Some Of Us Absolutely Do Want To Watch Women's Sport'.
Errr, it is your title. You're the OP and you wrote that title, didn't you? You could have written anything as the title. 'Here's Proof That Some Of Us Absolutely Do Want To Watch Women's Sport', for example. And exactly what didn't carry your approval or disapproval, the title or the content of...
He obviously included anyone - you're here commenting but weren't included specifically. When someone makes a general statement based on flawed 'statistics' it SHOULD be debated. BTW I AM here to debate the accuracy, why are YOU here?
I was only using the other poster's flawed argument against...
Levels [insert pic of Kramer here] No-one's expecting that level. We already have that level. BTW the level it was played at in the 1800s was the highest level at the time. I'm not waiting 120 years for women's football to reach today's level either, especially when the men's level then will be...
Tell us why we should be watching women's footy. Is it as good as men's? Is it AFL standard? Is it VFL standard? I don't watch VFL because we have AFL, which is a better standard. I don't watch local track and field but I watch the Olympics. I don't watch the local go-kart racing but I watch F1...
Women's sport doesn't interest me and neither does its success or failure. I was simply answering someone who provided non-proof as proof. The person he was trying to prove wrong stated "Womens sport is an inferior version of the real stuff so will never rate no matter what time of day it's...
It doesn't. It broke women's records only.
"After breaking attendance records for a women’s sporting event in Europe this year, Sunday’s All-Ireland SFC final between Dublin and Mayo also set new TG4 records with an average of 303,800 people tuning in – the highest figure since the station...
I'm not really interested in testosterone levels because they're different, within certain parameters, between women and between men, and there are differences between women (or men) everywhere else anyway. My argument is that XX is female and XY is male, every time. If a female has a genetic...
Sorry but you're wrong. XX is female and XY is male. That's a biological fact. The X-chromosome genes will always be expressed as will those on the Y-chromosome. Always.
PS. We're talking biology here, not 'identity'.
We have conflicting info because Kirsti is telling us she's XX and if she is I don't see any problem with her competing against other women, considering she's female. I doubt that Semenya is 'most likely' XXY. Of course biology isn't clean cut as such but in the case of XX and XY it is - it's...
