We didn't get an immediate demonisation of white people as one would have expected given it was a non muslim white person. It is natural to ask if it was islamic terrorism in that situation.
Media/police reporting on non white terrorism tends to be misleading due to concerns over racism/bigotry. The question will be asked till a definitive statement on the motive is made.
Ok, but there is lots of racial hate towards the Chinese but we didn't have to ask whether it was Chinese terrorism. The question of whether it was islamic terrorism is asked for a reason.
