Agreed - but if they did it consistently, every team would run out of players.
Pretty poor effort by the Kiwi there, don't be a ******** just because it's working for the other team.
The worst thing is, when the Kiwis score, I actually thought that something would happen that would gift the Italians a goal.
Clearly I'm cynical and jaded, but jesus it's hard not to be when bullshit decisions constantly favour the big sides.
The Kiwis need to get their heads back on the game...
Us and the Kiwis should start dishing out some shirt-fronts; the Italians can bring diving and cheating to the table, let's bring something out of our culture to it ;)
Robbie Savage talking on BBC Radio 5: "That's shocking. That's not a penalty, he's hardly touched him. That's a disgrace, it's embarrassing really. There's slight contact and De Rossi, being a professional, has gone down and made a meal of it. New Zealand shouldn't get too disheartened."
Is there no review of these games where any form of penalty can be handed out after?
Because that is a disgrace, the guys got form, he's purely and simply a cheat.
I don't mind watching soccer, the skill and tactics are incredible at times - but I'll never get into a game where cheating is so...
I agree, it's disgusting, you see half a dozen players run to the referee and scream in his face numerous times every game.
I have no idea why they allow it...
Stakes are higher, reprecussions of a single decision are frequently a significant factor in deciding the result; can't say that about AFL - as s**t as the umpires are.
You can chest it though, slight deviation in the balls path or his, and it's the chest, fair play. As it was, it was shoulder, he didn't deliberately knock it or stop it with his arm, it was a crazy decision.
Penalty? Yes.
Red Card? No way.
Edit - just reading up, apparently I'm wrong. Surely...
How many times did Neill and Moore stop because they thought a German was off-side?
Bloody ridiculous seeing that, they should know that you play to the ref's whistle, nothing else.
