    The on topic thread 4.0

Sad news. A Chelsea academy product a part of the same generation as Chopper, Osgood, Tambling, Hollins, Bonetti etc who made us relevant through the 60s when the Doc was coaching us. When he was the Socceroos head coach, I always felt bad for him that he couldn't get us to qualify for France...

Russia's invasion of Ukraine and what it means for football

Only concern I have about Ratcliffe is he supports Manchester United.

Russia's invasion of Ukraine and what it means for football

I think him selling the club is a real possibility now. Today might be the first step to that eventual outcome. I wonder if someone like Jim Ratcliffe or Todd Boehly are still interested in buying the club after being rejected by Abramovich a few years ago. Today is to save face and take the...

Russia's invasion of Ukraine and what it means for football

I'm with you 100% here as a fellow Chelsea supporter. Became a fan during the Bates years, and will be a fan long after Abramovich is gone assuming this is the end of his tenure with us.

Thank god this insane farce is over. The fact it got this far is unacceptable.

European Super League/Expanded Champions League Format Discussion

I’m sure they did. I think they’re hoping the backlash will lead to apathy at some point and then eventually acceptance of the new reality.

European Super League/Expanded Champions League Format Discussion

Maybe I'm delusional, but I think if anyone walks away from this, it will be Manchester City, Chelsea and/or Atletico Madrid. It feels like City and Chelsea have panicked with the thought that they will be "left behind" if they didn't sign up as a founding member. I can't see either club being...

Good statement by Everton. Truth hurts.

European Super League/Expanded Champions League Format Discussion

First time since 1998. We’ve never played Real Madrid in the Champions League before. The excitement of playing them this year was palpable. If it happened every year, the novelty will wear off very quickly.

European Super League/Expanded Champions League Format Discussion

The owners are so disconnected from the supporter base, I'm amazed they didn't anticipate the backlash we're seeing now. If the competition doesn't go ahead, a lot of damage has already been done.

European Super League/Expanded Champions League Format Discussion

I’d be amused if Chelsea couldn’t play under their name, and had to call themselves “West London Blues” or something along those lines. Chelsea Pitch Owners have exclusive rights to the name of the club.

European Super League/Expanded Champions League Format Discussion

The novelty of playing Barcelona, Real Madrid etc every year will wear off quickly. The damage this will do to the sport cannot be understated.

I'm still stunned hours after the announcement. Football as we know it is finished. Sad day for the sport.

Congrats to Liverpool. Very deserving Winners. Over the moon that we did the business and knocked over City today, which solidifies our CL prospects for next season. No doubt Frank has been a resounding success for the club this season.

Three points secured. Hugely important win which gives us a buffer from Man United and Wolves and edges us closer to Leicester.
