Our delivery would be a lot better if he actually presented and ran into space instead of just standing there.
He has been awful in basically every area.
Our structure needs to change. Richmond play two talls and two rucks. Works for them. I imagine we'd play 3 talls and a ruck if Hooker and Daniher were available. I don't mind playing Phillips/Draper forward as long as McKernan is nowhere near the ruck.
If we want to maintain our "structure"...
I've been saying this for a while, but keep him permanently in the forwardline. I'm so sick of seeing him giving away free kicks in ruck contests in our defensive half. He has no awareness. Phillips is a better ruck. Him and Draper should be rucking. McKernan should only have four jobs. Staying...
Ok maybe not more unreliable, but Hooker is also inconsistent as a forward. I highly doubt he’d do any better than McKernan. Our entries inside 50 + forward structure back in 2017 was the best we had since Lloyd and Lucas. Far better than anything we produced since. Pointless to compare stats...
Look. Everyone agrees that McKernan was bad this week and last week, but dropping him is basically confirming a loss before we even begin. Our whole forward structure will go down the drain.
Who is a realistic replacement for him? Stewart will never be able to take two defenders on. He doesn't...
He is, but I'm excited to see what Ridley can do. I believe he has the higher ceiling. Showed some signs last year before dropping off.
If Ridley doesn't work, then Gleeson is more than capable of stepping up.
If the bad umpiring pissed you off in a non-elimination VFL final, just remember that we have an elimination final coming up against West Coast in Perth...
