Anybody here, seen my old friend Eurosport?
Can you tell me where it's gone?
It pleased a lot of people, but it seems the good die young,
I just looked around, and it was gone.
Robertson v Murphy tonight. Would have been good :(
Stuart Bingham just won a quarter of a million pounds, I'd say the more expensive cue was worth it :) He certainly seems to play the game with the correct attitude. Would be a good bloke to have a beer with I would think.
For a guy who was only in the competition because Ronnie O'Sullivan...
Well done Stuart Bingham for becoming World Masters Champion for 2020. At one stage Ali Carter led 7-5 but Bingham won 5 of the next 6 frames to take the title. Eurosport is ending on Fox from 31st January, so not sure where I'll be getting my snooker fix in future.
Bingham v Carter in the Masters final tonight.
Something that intrigues me with snooker, is the way players need to have a drink every time they end a break, even if they've only played 1 shot. No wonder they need to take so many breaks, their bladders must be full :)
I can't compare with other years because I don't have the stats, but both players averaged over 102, there were plenty of 10-11 darters to win legs, MVG narrowly missed a 9 darter. I've seen MVG play better, but I don't think I've ever seen Wright play better.
Here I was hoping 2020 would be better, and you throw this at me on the very first day!! :)
I do have Fox and have loved sitting up at 4am watching the snooker live in total peace and quiet. Ah well, s**t happens and not much I can do about it.
Just on MVG, as we've observed, he's not in control of game like we're used to. I have a theory that Gary Anderson used to inspire MVG to play at his best, some of their shoot-outs have been classics. Gary seems to dropped off the pace a little and it's almost as though MVG doesn't feel as...
BTW, commentators kept remarking that Price and Wright were good mates, but you could have fooled me. I don't think Wright would have been too pleased with Price after the match. Price was strutting around before the match saying he would win 6-0, and when Wright took the 1st set, he tried to...
Wright plays a more consistent game than MVG, but the thing that has brought Wright undone in the past is he gets a bit shaky in the big points. That's where MVG may have the edge.
Yep, we're making too big a deal out of this Fallon caper. If it were a physical sport and a woman broke into a traditional men's sport, I'd say it was huge news, but it's darts FFS. No reason why a woman can't beat a man in darts, all they have to do is throw straighter. I've turned on to...
IMHO, there are times when The Bully Boy needs to just slow down a fraction, especially when he's not throwing well. It's nice to see 3 darts fire out in rapid succession, but I'd just like to see him stop and take stock of what he's doing. IMHO, has the potential to win the whole thing but...
What is it about Gerwyn Price that annoys me? I like all the players but I always enjoy it when Price gets beaten. It is just me, or anyone feel the same way?
Ronnie O'Sullivan fantastic this morning. Defeated Cahill 4-0 in 32 minutes, averaging 11 seconds per shot. He amazes me in this sort of form, he's playing his shot as the referee is re-spotting the colour. I would think he makes the refs sweat at times :)
In the UK Championships, 98th ranked Nigel Bond eliminated World No.1 Judd Trump 6-3. After trailing 1-3 in the best of 11 frames, the 54 year old Bond completely outplayed Judd to dominate the next 5 frames. I'd never seen Bond before and he was very impressive indeed for a player ranked 98th.
There's been some very high quality snooker in the World Open. The match between Trump and Perry was a classic. Trump raced to a 3-0 lead and then Perry pegged him back to 4-all and the decider came down to a pink ball game. Trump won after both players missed on the pink. The Selby-Bingham...
Robertson didn't play poorly, in fact he played quite well, it's just that Ronnie totally smothered him. Gave him very little chances at all. I've been watching a fair bit of snooker over the past 12 months and have to question the rankings when O'Sullivan is still No.3 in the world. I've...
I watched it from 5:30am, which equates to around 7pm in Wales, and it ran overtime, so I would suggest it was live. It was replayed later on at 12:30pm.
He used to be a great player. The only thing that does annoy me about that toupee is he is obviously very self conscious of it and stares at himself in the monitor all the time wondering if people at home can tell :)
