Apcs latest was much better. I had that on high rotation for a good two months. This tool album didnt even last a week for me and I have had some of their other albums on high rotation for 15 years. It is softer then other tool albums. It doesnt have great vocals which is usually the highlight...

No there are objective things (from the point of view of humanity) about music and art that make them good. If it was completely subjective then on average everything would be equally as popular.

Why is it poor form?

Vocals are rare and when they are there they are mostly boring. Musically its not all that interesting either. The people who like this album are no different to the people who like the irishman. They have convinced themselves it must be good because of the previous body of work, long wait and...

90s is the peak of good music.

Their last concert here 6 years ago was still pretty awesome although the decline had started. Will have to look into how their recent concerts are going?

They arent the same they used to be. Most of the concerts songs are going to be the last two albums. It wont be the same. Not sure I will even go now.

Easily their worst album. 10 thousand days is even a level above this. This is a bigger disapointment than the final season of game of thrones. The musical writing on this album is attrocious. Too repetative and plain boring.

Music is very nice but there simply isnt anywhere near enough of Maynard ripping out the awesome vocals and that's what has always elevated tool above the rest.

Octavarium is underated. Probably their last great album.

I thought there was a clear consensus thar scenes from a memory is easily their best album and one of the top 5 albums of all time.

Sigur Ros album after agaetis was a bit weak and thus dont make this list. They are in the top 5 bands of all time though. Along with Tool who are arguably number 1. Tool are a level above all the other metal bands you mention including Metallica. Good choice on Isis though. Great underrated band.

New album is awesome. APC have never had big memorable songs so I dont get that criticism.
