CliffMcTainshaw I decided to check out the podcast from that website ‘the strange brew’, boy do I feel stupid not knowing about it. Some great stuff with some awesome interviews and guests. Going through the backlog of episodes now 👍
Aaron Hentra Project, I was recommended this album by a poster on this board Joey JoJo Shabad who is the artists brother, acoustic folky even some blues thrown in. A great hidden gem listen and enjoy!
Great thanks for that summary I might check this book out. wow 31 secs! no wander none of these songs have lead ins. I always had a feeling that streaming music was going to change the landscape but to the extend that some greedy suites just tune up junk in a committee room to satisfy there...
Another Rick Beato special on how old music is killing new music. Todays Lyrics are pathetically bad.
He is spot on for the most part although bad lyrics isn't exclusive to today their has been bad lyrics in the past also.
I think that is actually contributing to the problem, there is no waiting to hear or see the next big single or album to come out from your favorite artists its just there and you stream it or go on YouTube and watch it, The anticipation of waiting is gone! Having all the music in the world...
Shows like countdown, Video Hits and MTV where pivotal to the growth and promotion of artists and genres back in the 70's through to the late 90's a lot of the time these shows especially MTV where first to promote any new singles or albums along with the videos.
Voodoo Moonshine their new excellent album 'Bottom of the Barrel' Love the singers amazing voice! A good mix of Rocking tunes and a couple of fine ballads too.
He's bloody awesome! get a hold of that album that song is from Timber & Steel while your at it check out the album Tall Stories its a little louder with more kick than his usual style but still awesome non the less! :thumbsu:
This is bonkers! The record industry has truly hit the bottom of the pits. When the artists themselves need to rely on creating viral TickTok videos to gain the record labels attention its no wonder why no real new music can get through in the mainstream.
Further to my OP article here is an interview with Ted Gioia about the current state of music and other media in general and what is the future of music.
insightful
Is this the problem through? How much of that music is any good or lasting? Will anyone be listening to today’s music in 30 years time like we are listen to muisc today from 30 years ago? Making it easy for artist to produce music isn’t a good thing imo. All you need is a trap beats machine and...
Suppose so.. But who's fault is that? I mean if we want to see good TV shows we don't watch commercial TV anymore we go to Netflix, Stand, Disney plus etc... Why than don't the current gen look for new Rock music instead of wanting to listen to old rock music? plenty of applications to do so...
I wouldn't say Rock has died off if you want to find some good Rock music its out there you will find it! That goes with old school rap RNB too.
Don't let anyone tell you that todays RNB is classical RNB because its not its all just 'house' junk!
If your looking for these gene's in the...
