Yeh I was impressed
Was a bit bummed that Rise Against only played one song I knew, the acoustic track from Siren Songs , but then looked up and found out they've released 6 albums since the initial three I knew and since fell off from following, so fair enough haha, especially with a 30 min set
Blink 182 and Rise Against tonight
First time at Rod Laver - have always avoided these huge gigs but my partner is a massive Blink fan (she already been to one of the other shows)
It'll be a nostalgia trip ha
Been there once (Me First and the Gimme Gimmes last year)
Thought the sound was s**t but not sure if venue or sound engineer
Slightly weird layout with the bar
bands also pulling out left, right and centre
have started joking (but kinda not) about booking 'standby bands' because of how often a band has had to pull out last minute -
we had to do it ourselves two weeks ago
so last year inbetween lockdowns and what not we managed to be able to rehearse enough to write an album - getting pressed on vinyl as we speak for next year release but dropped first single today
Our new album current getting pressed through Implant Media but pretty sure they send it off overseas
Does Zenith actually press in Australia or do they send them off too?

we 'released' this last year at a launch where the tapes weren't ready yet (classic stuff) and then the next gig at the tote we had booked after finally getting them was cancelled from covid - haha
nearly finished album #2 though so keepin positive
don't know if more talented but I saw Toots and the Maytals about 10 years ago - far out what a night that was
Toots was wearing a ridiculous all red leather one piece suit -
though to be fair that kinda reggae/dub/ska just has to be tight to be good, nothing overly difficult
Saw them play at The Arthouse in 2006 - They toured with Strung Out but I never have gotten into Strung Out and The Arthouse gig was the only one they played on that tour as a headline without Strung Out
Was still living in Adelaide back then so came over for it - Was a ripper set
Wouldn't...
have you seen the videos where he has got his kid on listening to piano chords and the kid has perfect pitch and can isolate every note being played, name them, and then sing them as an arpeggio ?
Absolutely ridiculous stuff
a couple of old Silverchair videos popped up in my youtube recommendations and watched them for nostalgia's sake
Chris Joannou would have to be the prototype 'rock' bass player - non-descript, mostly root note stuff that literally any person could have done if they were mates with Johns since...
saw them perform that album live with a full band - maybe 15 or so on stage? and all samples being played live
it was one of the best gigs I've been to
I'll run with it with a bit of creative license

Top 5 songs about Summer
By the way not a huge fan only really heard them through an old housemate who played them alot but noone can deny that sick as bass riff in the Less I Know...
Talk about an earworm, goddamn
In Berlin at the moment and there are huge posters for their upcoming show on what feels like every street corner
I guess that means the Germans love them or they have invested heavily in promotion
It's completely irrational how much it annoys me but every 2nd loser has their *ing phone in the air
no one was even singing along to In Bloom in the verses when by all rights you should hear them when it drops to just bass
That is very similar to me - i tried to get into One By One as well, but i guess after that i stopped trying and havent given any albums after a decent go
Since then Nothing Left To Lose has become boring but their first two albums are still on my ipod and I'm down with em when they come on shuffle
