What a rort, $71 a month for endless reruns of Gawdy Housewives of Rich Men and whatever other garbage they cram in their 700 channels? Kayo isn't much better but at least you can split a sub so end up paying about $100 for the footy season.
WADA's aim is to prevent athletes playing with banned substances in their system. The AFL is ensuring they, the clubs and players are complying with that.
Not really, the point was not that government employees are never tested, the point was that not ALL government employees are subject to testing. People working in certain departments such as the ADF, Border Force etc I can understand why they have testing (though I don't know if I agree with...
You are correct however the AFL's illicit drugs policy is something they imposed themselves (ie not to comply with WADA or receive govt funding) and which the players voluntarily sign up to. My guess is the reason they even have it in the first place is for this very reason, to avoid players...
But if they don't play they haven't breached the WADA code. So it is not circumventing, it is actually making sure they comply with the code by not playing with that substance in their system.
What benefit would there be for clubs to test for non-recreational drugs (ie PED's)? Think about it, WADA can still test players out of competition for PED's - it is only that recreational drugs are deemed a breach of the WADA code if found in the system on game day. So a player doesn't play and...
CPSU not on board with mandatory piss testing? I guess it's hard when they are wanting to enshrine permanent WFH, do the piss testers knock on your front door and follow you to your bathroom? Maybe they follow you on holiday overseas like they did to Dane Swan.
I've never worked anywhere that has drug testing and frankly I wouldn't want to. Never heard anyone I know be subject to it either, corporate or government (state and federal).
They will be picked up by WADA during their regulation out of competition testing if that's the case. It is not dependent on them playing on a specific weekend or not, PEDs in your system breach WADAs code whether it is in competition (ie on game day) or not. So you don't have to worry about it...
Won't somebody think of the gamblers!
Why should they be subject to bans for a substance which is not performance enhancing? I don't understand why they are subject to non-PED testing by the AFL anyway.
You're right, nothing is stopping them
except for the fact they can still be tested by...
That's some nice rationalisation there, keep enjoying your bloodstained overpriced sneakers.
Wow, so now you're comparing people getting high with people brutally murdering people or sexually assaulting kids. Have a Bex and a lie down mate, you're going round the bend.
No, it's not.
No, it's...
Why should they be tested at all? When was the illicit drugs policy implemented? Could it be the only reason the AFL tests for illicit drugs at all is for this exact purpose, ie to identify players who still have illicit drugs but not PEDs in their system and ensure they don't play on game day...
That player can still be subject to WADA testing out of competition and be found guilty of using a banned substance. Pulling them from a match won't stop that, it will only stop them being found guilty of using specific banned substances like coke in competition. It's not a circumvention of the...
And if you own an iPad or iPhone or wear Nike etc etc you are participating in a capitalist economy that is built on the blood, sweat and tears of people in other countries. So you'll forgive me if I don't buy your feigned morality.
You're right I think fun should be one of the first things to be outlawed, not just in the AFL but in society as a whole. We can't have people having fun, life is serious business!
Funny that you would take my response to your post as "preaching", I was just reaffirming your assessment of my view. I'm not suggesting people should take drugs, just that if they do they shouldn't be locked up. Each to their own, if kumbuya on a Sunday morning is how you get your rocks off no...
