West Coast Eagles Priority Pick (2024)

What powerhouse academy? Who is coming through in 26/27?

    Best 10 under 21

7 Goals in 3 games as a second year tall. Pretty good. It's just so hard to tell at this age for talls. Amiss probably ahead

Roast Has Opening Round been totally botched?

A competitive advantage in the AFL!? Shock Horror.

Roast Has Opening Round been totally botched?

Yeah I loved it. Maybe one game on Sunday instead of the Saturday arvo game. But apart from that I thought it was awesome. Great spotlight on those northern states. Great to see Giants and Suns very well attended with good wins.

    Expansion 20th AFL team location

The AFL doesn't seem to be in a hole or be going badly at all. Increased viewership and number in emerging markets are flying participation. The comp is stronger and closer than its ever been. I really don't see the issue atm. They made the hard choice to go after growth markets....now they...

    Expansion 20th AFL team location

Yeah I'd love all of that to happen. 1. Sure....i don't have a problem with that 2. SCG:nope Accor:too big Henson: (Not AFL standard yet) 3. Love that but I think Swans might have something to say about it.

    Expansion 20th AFL team location

This was never a 12 year plan....that would be incredibly short sighted. It's a long term investment and I don't believe it's going anywhere. It's growing in Western Sydney...so is the academy. Membership tally has grown, crowds didn't recover well from covid but we shall see how we go over...

    Expansion 20th AFL team location

2.65 million people in Western Sydney alone. Keep winning and keep doing community outreach and they have the biggest potential of pretty much any population base in Australia. Tassie has a pop of 571 (understood it's heartland afl and that will be massive initially). They are different...

Which list would you most want?

I think Freos back line is pretty solid, as are their forwards, they need some potency up forward to join Amiss. Logan McDonald and a decent pressure forward.

Who will be better in 2024? Geelong or Richmond

I agree they rated him when that took him, I was really disappointed with his lack of buy in right off the bat. Kinda showed a lack of competitive attitude to want to go and win wherever he was. Especially since he was drafted injured. In his second year they were pretty much playing him to...

    Best 10 under 21

Finn Callaghan just started breaking out at the end of 2023. 2024 with a proper preseason I think we are gonna see him use his size (6'3.5) more and not just his running and kicking. 20 years old. We saw flashes of his kicking prowess in the finals series.

Analysis 2023 All Australian Team Awards Night

Taylor has to make AA if he plays out the rest of the season in form. The guy is unbelievable. If you aren't watching Giants games (which I understand) then I understand your hesitation....but he destroys the oppos best forward every week and intercepts and kills everything that's in the...

    2022 Membership Updates

In 10 years GWS will be quite large. Good culture, outreach and a competitive team.

His best is yet to come

I think Corr will be really good for North. I'm not sure if he has much upside from what we've already seen, I hope so for their sake. Either way I think we will be a reliable big body....when he's on the park.
  15. PaythePerryman

His best is yet to come

Yeah it would be a nice arc if he could reach the level people thought he would. Last year was a good start but he needs to go to that next level to get the next contract I think. He will get the opportunity this year.

His best is yet to come

HOGAN please and thankyou. Would be massive if he can play consistently and without injury. The potential is there, the expectation (externally) is at an all time low.

This is an awesome comparison. Well done.

Opinion What unpopular AFL opinions do you have? - Part 2

The contrast looks better on the tele. It's a cleaner look. We did use a lighter charcoal for many years. This is charcoal...there are many shades. Mixing it up isn't a bad thing. We aren't a 'traditional' club with history like the Red Legs, no need for our jumpers to reflect a past that...

Opinion What unpopular AFL opinions do you have? - Part 2

Unpopular opinion for a reason 😅 *Cough It is charcoal. As far as using orange....we use it ALL the damn time. This year our away was very orange. Our charcoal kit got a lot of air play coz it's used against Swans and then again in finals....coz it means something now. I think that's what you...

Opinion Which club will become the next to win their first flag?

I think the anonymity of playing for GWS is suiting him very well. The expectations on his externally are at an all time low. However the internal expectations will be rising this year. He's triggered the second year of his contract and now GWS will be looking for some return on investment. We...

Opinion Which club will become the next to win their first flag?

Jezza was that guy I think, and he allowed a two ruck system given how high he worked up the ground. Saw him rip apart games consistently. But we ended up with Bruhn/Stone and Callaghan(traded picks but still) out of that trade so that's the future. Brander is maybe a good fill for the 'Jezza'...

Opinion Which club will become the next to win their first flag?

⏫ This. Our back line has also developed really well in 2021 with injuries opening spaces for Idun, Buckley and Cumming all finding their feet at senior level + Taylor developing into one of the best tall defenders in the game. My only worry with the Giants is our forward line. Apart from...
