lol I remember the Saints when they won it in 1996 celebrating like they had won a real flag! fans pitch invading even climbing up goal posts and all. I think by the time 2004 rolled around they thought let’s not over do it again it’s just a preseason cup after all, probably took it a bit to far...
This may be strange to you guys but Mark "Jacko" Jackson is the reason I support Geelong. He stood out with his antics as a kid and because of that I adapted Geelong as my team plus my brother gave me his footy card as a kid too like pretty much my first footy card around 1985 or 86 when I was...
Liked: Kiss and the little kids kiss army, A Close game was fun too :)
Learnt: Stupid mistakes most definitely costs you games and premierships when the game is tight
Hated: Channel 7's directing and camera work was just appalling for a Grand Final
The sh!t commentary is one thing goes without saying.. but to stuff up the directing and camera angles especially that crappy behind the player goal shot which zooms in and doesn't even follow the ball at times is just unforgivable. Whoever the director was yesterday sack him/her ASAP!!
I thought it was awesome with all the kids in Kiss makeup and the kids air guitaring on the stage were rippers! Great show probably would have looked 100x better at night but still a great show Kiss never disappoint!
Is Hinkley now the longest serving coach at the one club without making a Grand Final? I‘m pretty sure Brad Scott had that honour at North Kens been at Port longer now.
Yeah exactly thats why if they had read the tea leafs it was vital for them to capitalise on the immigrants moving into the area at the time by being successful like Richmond and Carlton did but they didn’t by always being on the bottom and it lead them down a road of extinction years later.
I think a lot of it has to do with Fitzroy not capitalising on all the European immigrates arriving in the 1960's and settling in the inner North. Where as Richmond Collingwood and Carlton did. Fitzroy were virtually permanently stuck on the bottom of the ladder in the 60's unfortunately paid a...
How has the Coach not been sacked yet?? Surly its a lost course to keep him some fresh ideas and personnel would be better than the garbage dished up atm. Club can't go on like it is major broom needed through the entre club too!
Don't mind a combined trophy for both competitions but as you said the AFL could have come up with a new trophy that would reflect both competitions. The McClelland Trophy will get ever more confusing in an historical since now.
So do we get a new Minor Premier trophy? or is that now scrapped?
1987 would have been the last time such a scenario happen in the old VFL. Where pretty much every match on the day had a bearing on the top 5! I was only a kid at the time but I can still remember listening on the radio with my brother continuously tuning the radios we had and trying to get...
It works in Soccer due to the fact most leagues in Europe is first pass the post. But realistically in most seasons nothing really happens in the final round, sure you get the odd dramatic finish every few years or so like what happen 10 years ago in the EPL but usually its all an antic climax...
