    Prediction 2023 Ladder Prediction Thread

At this stage yes because its hard to see who will dramatically rise and fall. Itll change after the trade period. I can see WCE rising to about 13th though.

    Prediction 2023 Ladder Prediction Thread

A comprehensive prediction based on zero thought going into it. Just what popped into my head. Ladder (and range where I think teams could finish): 1. Geelong (top 4) 2. Melbourne (1st to 6th) 3. Brisbane (2nd to 7th) 4. Sydney 5. Richmond 6. Collingwood 7. Fremantle 8. Carlton 9. Western...

Brisbane would be insane to bring back Daniher

Fagan has a tough decision. McStay, Daniher, Hipwood, Fort and McInerny all deserve spots, but you have to drop/leave out one of them. Fort had the game of his life last night, whilst McStay was great again after being awesome last week. I thought Tom Fullarton was very good on the big stage...

Is this where Collingwood drops away?

1x GF 3x Prelim 1x Semi 2x QF Won 2 of the first 6, unfortunately. Hopefully we can make it 3/7

    2022 22 under 22 team

The fact we cant pick Gulden or Smith or Walsh as a wingman now means that Cerra, McInerny or Jordon will make the side over someone who deserves it more.

Opinion The Collingwood Versus Port Adelaide Jumper Debate continues...

Think it looks great. Would the majority Port fans agree?

Opinion The Collingwood Versus Port Adelaide Jumper Debate continues...

I actually think the teal looks awesome; Port have designed some excellent jumpers over the years. No, this is not a sarcastic comment. But I understand if the fans dont like the teal.

Opinion The Collingwood Versus Port Adelaide Jumper Debate continues...

It definitely exists but I just don't think the AFL is obligated to, or would want to, make private business documents public. If anything, it opens up a very grey area for any future topics like this one to have documents leaked. There's probably an almost unspoken blanket rule for a reason...

Absolutely, which is why I didnt include this point in the OP at all.

Agreed, but it probably takes a while to get there if you know what I mean.

Opinion The Collingwood Versus Port Adelaide Jumper Debate continues...

I wish it would be that simple, but I'm sure the reasonable thing to expect is that if that happened, say in 6 years time, we will be right back where we are now with PAFC fans claiming the exact same grievances.

Opinion The Collingwood Versus Port Adelaide Jumper Debate continues...

This is what I am advocating for, in the OP. I am simply saying that Sydney wearing it in away games is different than Port wearing it in home Showdowns, which is true. I also might add that I think, and its quite reasonable and I'm sure you will agree, that Collingwood would be worried that...

Opinion The Collingwood Versus Port Adelaide Jumper Debate continues...

I cannot provide a copy of the original agreement. The AFL is not obligated to release it to the public. I think screenshots/images of it floated around once upon a time, but it is real, otherwise this discussion wouldn't exist. One day, it will probably surface; I predict this will happen when...

Opinion The Collingwood Versus Port Adelaide Jumper Debate continues...

The text I have bolded is probably the best way out of this and I think it is quite plausible. I might also add that I am not a McGuire apologist. I think he does a good job of painting himself in his own light. As the great Sixto Rodgiguez once sung, a monkey in silk is a monkey no less. The...

Opinion The Collingwood Versus Port Adelaide Jumper Debate continues...

Personally, I have no emotion regarding it, and a lot of fans I've spoken to agree. I've tried to present an article which has all the facts, and I have literally agreed with you in said article that they should be allowed to wear it. Not sure what more I can say really.

Butters as sub, maybe come on and straight line someone from the opposition. Wouldn't be unusual. Haha

Opinion The Collingwood Versus Port Adelaide Jumper Debate continues...

As I've mentioned in my reply above, we can discuss feelings and emotions like "bad faith" but in terms of an actual fact-based argument that means nothing. Going to Collingwood or the AFL and accusing them of "bad faith" will not get you what you want. My OP presented the facts in order try...

Opinion The Collingwood Versus Port Adelaide Jumper Debate continues...

This won't be an attack on you specifically; I am just trying to clearly articulate what I mean. As I think I mentioned in an earlier reply, bringing emotions into this wont work because unless Port can get an actual document signed to get what they want, whinging about it will do nothing. We...

    2022 22 under 22 team

Probably fair point re. Coleman. As far as Ginnivan, you may think me biased, but 34 goals (2nd leading goalkicker) for the current 2nd placed team, I have him ahead of Butters who I think hasn't hit the heights I expected. This is a combination of being frustrated with him in AFL Fantasy, lots...

    2022 22 under 22 team

I put a post on twitter a while ago and will reiterate, that I'd like to signal that I am on the James Jordon bandwagon for next season, 3rd year breakout is coming. Will be an absolute jet.

    2022 22 under 22 team

I find it interesting that they have to be 22 or under during the finals too, given most AFL awards end at the H&A season to give everyone the same amount of time to impress for them. I think they should scrap this idea and make it that as long as they don't turn 23 until the Monday after r23...

Opinion The Collingwood Versus Port Adelaide Jumper Debate continues...

The reason it is that way is because of past agreements signed by all 3 parties. This is not a situation where people are sticking up for their mates, as much as you may wish it was.

Opinion The Collingwood Versus Port Adelaide Jumper Debate continues...

And I don't think there should be any controversy if Port want to wear their Prison Bar Guernsey. If West Coast had wanted to wear that guernsey against Richmond, then there would've definitely been controversy. But that's not the case. The issue lies with the agreements that have been signed...
  28. jsdsgn

Opinion The Collingwood Versus Port Adelaide Jumper Debate continues...

This is a false equivalence....if West Coast wanted to wear that guernsey for every home game, or whenever they wanted, then it would be the exact same discussion as the Prison Bar one, but with 2 different teams. Wearing it for 1 game didn't matter. Plus, I said that I'm happy for Port to wear...

Opinion The Collingwood Versus Port Adelaide Jumper Debate continues...

It's a tricky one because it does hold at least a little relevance here, but at the same time it's also impossible to begin discussing it without creating a whole new topic within itself.
  30. jsdsgn

Opinion The Collingwood Versus Port Adelaide Jumper Debate continues...

Well, like I said, I agree that I couldn't care less if they wear it for every game in SA. But, regardless of 'who cares', the real issue is the agreements that have been signed by Port, AFL & Coll, as discussed in the OP. Boiling this down to a topic based on "who cares" is probably the reason...
