The German Touring Car Championship never really excited me, I’ll tune occasionally but this isn’t much a race these days. Needs the Nissans, Aston and Bentleys back ASAP.

Just wondering if anyone remembers this little masterpiece of Australian Engineering. The Giocattolo Group B It was based on a heavily modified Alfa Romeo Sprint with a Holden 5.0L V8. 15 were built in 1988. I think it is one of the most beautiful cars ever built.

I do like the livery of the Mostert Mustang, the back of it reminds me of Moffat's 1977 XC Falcon, especially around the taillights.

I'm not a SVG fan, but I've always thought he was one of the finest talents I've seen in all the time I've been watching tintops which goes back to Bathurst 1977, and to win at his first attempt at NASCAR is quite amazing. Congrats SVG.

That is one of the most eventful starts to a race I think I've ever seen, fires, spins, almost every car has battle damage, the only thing we haven't seen is a car shunted into a wall.

I'd like to see it, but can't see it happening.

If there was a "3MP" instead of "yes" on the rear end of the Mostert Mustang it would look almost identical to Moffat's 1977 Falcon.

I know Mobil are the sponsors which is why the two stripes are black, but this would have been a classic if the stripes were blue like the old Cobra's.

My heart was in my mouth until I saw the red flags and then I knew Richo and Skaifey had it won. What annoyed me was Johnson knowing the rules full well after 1981 but still carrying on like a pork chop. I wasn't a big fan of his before this race, but I have hated him ever since.

This was the first Bathurst 1000 I saw when I was six years old and it remains the most iconic finish in the history of the race.

I quite enjoyed that top 10 shootout, it's a great format, especially when there are two or three cars that are so closely matched.

I didn’t know there were other drivers around who witnessed the accident, that would stick with you during the race and for decades afterwards. It definitely explains why the Chase was brought in because those mid 80’s Group A cars were fast but didn’t have the downforce of the earlier Group C...

Another enjoyable race, wild first hour or two, but then it settled and the cream rose to the top and we saw some great racing in the last 40 laps. I was hoping Mostert would defend but it wasn't to be. And Holden goes out a winner. Can't ask for more than that.

I wonder if Waters is going to be this generations Seton. Close again but looks like missing out again.

You can't spend more than 3 and a half hours in the car in a single stint, unless there are three or four SC's he should be right for time.

Coulthard has completed 55 laps so he has finished his stint. At least that is what Crompton and Skaife said.
