John Wayne - the most wooden actor in history, most of his Western are terrible when compared to the great Westerns of Leone and Eastwood.
James Cagney
Humphrey Bogart
Tom Cruise
Meryl Streep
Julia Roberts
And most of today's Hollywood actors and actresses, although I think its most likely due...
I binged all 8 episodes of season 2 today and IMO I think the second season was only a minor drop off in quality from the first season, until the final episode. It must have been 15 years since I read the book, so I can't remember how the story ended but surely it can't be as disappointing as...
Shawshank was a flop in the cinema's and didn't become a fan favourite until it was released on home video.
Of those 50 films, I've only seen 22.
I think Forrest Gump may be the reason I gave up on Hollywood blockbusters, I thought it was a terrible film and the most unworthy Academy Award...
I wasn't as satisfied with the final episode of season 2 as I was with season 1, but it was still a very good season and I'm looking forward to seeing what happens in Season 3.
Fully expect to see Neagley again the season 3, but I hope we Dixon as well, she is quite a stunner.
Reacher Season 2 Australia release date
Amazon finally confirmed that the Reacher Season 2 release date is happening with a triple episode premiere on 15 December 2023, with new episodes airing weekly after that. The second season will also have eight episodes, just like the previous season...
My pick for the funniest skit of all time appears in one of the D-Gen (I think) episodes, Tom Gleisner's test-tube-o-matic.
"Why wait
Gestate
And let me impregnate you."
Pandora's Box
A Silent classic from 1929, with one of the great performances by Louise Brooks as Lulu. This version which I received from the UK today is a restored and remastered version so the picture is very good for a film that is 94 years old.
Better question would be, what Hollywood Blockbusters have you not seen. Mine include:
Top Gun (all)
Avatar (all)
Mission Impossible (all)
Titanic
Guardians Of The Galaxy (all)
Independence Day
Avengers (all)
Jurassic Park (all)
Fast and Furious (all sequels)
Harry Potter (all)
Iron Man (all)...
Found my old The Pretender DVD's and have been going through the first season, loved the show back in the late 90's but haven't seen it in at least 15 years. It's not as good as I remember but still an enjoyable show.
The Fifth Element.
Watching it now on SBS World Movies. It's on at least once every week, and whenever I come across it, I find it hard to turn away. :)
From the over-the-top acting from Oldman, Tucker and Jovovich to the sets, storyline and the non-stop action it is still one of the films I...
7yo guest Zac Wolfe first played golf when he was just 1yo and now he is a junior world champ.
My parents let me down big time, I didn't play my first game of golf until I was 16.:(
The banter between Sam and Kitty was last night was brilliant, Haley's "She 16 going on 17" line one of the funniest ever and Lloyd was great as well. The best episode for some time.
I'm watching Hannibal, again, I think it's been around 4/5 years since I last watched it. It's one of the greatest shows I have ever seen, but not one I can binge watch over a weekend because it was such a powerful, intense show, but there are so many images have remained with me such as the...
Currently watching The Mouse That Roared on SBS World Movies, it's probably the fifth or sixth time I've seen it, but it such a funny little movie, and Peter Sellers is a comedic master, no current comedian comes close.
For mindless fun that doesn't require any brain power, and I can close my eyes without missing anything:
Cannonball Run
The Replacements
Major League
Broken Arrow
Speed
If I want a little more stimulation, then I go to one of these:
The Fifth Element
How To Steal A Million
The Pink Panther...
My Sister went to school with him here in Canberra back in the 90's and she thought he was an a-hole's a-hole back then, and apparently he is a bigger one now. The worst thing to ever come out of Canberra.
I gave it a go as well, and found it almost unwatchable, the defective from Darwin is the worst character ever written in TV history, she totally ruined it for me. The rest of the cast was pretty good, the story looked solid and it had some funny moments, but that *in' NT idiot needs to be...
