Scandal Marlion Pickett - In Custody for multiple offences - Later bailed.

Wouldn't have thought the nature of the crime should matter unless it calls into question the integrity of the contest - such as PEDs or illegal betting or community safety is threatened. And if we were to look at having a dividing line, potential years of incarceration would be a more objective...

So charge = guilt? Why do we bother with courts ?
  6. The Falcon Strike

    Scandal Brownlow Betting Scandal

What evidence though? Being charged isn't evidence of guilt. If he has done it - he is a dumb prick at best, criminal at worst - but as far as I can tell - there is no evidence available for public consumption.

What evidence are you basing that on?

    Scandal Brownlow Betting Scandal

Charged doesn’t mean guilty Regardless of the alleged offence He may well have - but no evidence is public yet We seem to have a rush on this country to persecute people based on an allegation Plenty of time to punish him should he be guilty

Rumour Carey v. Stevens II : The long awaited rematch

Incredibly different scenarios - in no way comparable. one is illegal and breaches code of ethics / duty of care.

Rumour Carey v. Stevens II : The long awaited rematch

I agree with your second point But the North reunions will always have that tension, Stevo didn't attend the motorcade. I find that incredibly sad - that was a high quality team over many years

Scandal Dani Laidley Arrested - Leave the Tasteless Jokes at the Door When Entering

Walk a thousand miles in another man's shoes. Having been privvy to what some of the pretty dark material coppers share amongst each other, it is very clear (rightly or wrongly) that this is how many of them cope with the crap they have to put up with everyday. Picking up eyeballs off the...

Rumour Willie Rioli allegedly caught tampering with a drug testing sample

Cousins was never convicted of anything though (at the time), nor found guilty of being a drug cheat. But yes - he did much worse We have "progressed" since then though Don't get me wrong - i still love the guy and am hoping for a miracle

Rumour Willie Rioli allegedly caught tampering with a drug testing sample

He's a dope, caught being a dope with dope Terrifically joyous footballer to watch, but unless something spectacular comes out with the facts - i daresay his WCE days may be over. There is a "tolerance" in the community about weed - moreso than powders and steroids etc - but the fact he is on...

Rumour Tom Scully retiring due to personal issue

Professional athletes do get the benefit of some fairly advantageous averaging rules - which certainly would have massively reduced his tax in the early years he was earning $1m plus. I'd assumed about $10m gross total
  19. The Falcon Strike

Rumour Tom Scully retiring due to personal issue

your assertion is that a 29 year old with a 60 year time horizon would have a portfolio consisting of 100% cash ... that’s your genuine assumption you’d make in that scenario
  20. The Falcon Strike

Rumour Tom Scully retiring due to personal issue

So TDs are the only option yeah - a Bloke at 29 investing in a non real-return asset class seems a reasonable assumption to make
  21. The Falcon Strike

Rumour Tom Scully retiring due to personal issue

Probably $7m net after tax I would think. Assuming he was responsible and spends $100k a year. That leaves him $6m saved $2m into a property - leaving $4m $4m would generate a lifetime income of ~$160k indexed. So no - it isn't billionaires' row - but it's twice the median wage and leaves...
  22. The Falcon Strike

Rumour Tom Scully retiring due to personal issue

Rumour Tigers Premiership Player - Sly bag exchange after game

First watch of the video is comical - and looks suss putting it into his sock (which is still weird) But on second watch - if he was handed a bag of drugs - who in their right mind - keeps their hand up - has a good look at it for a couple of seconds and then decides to put it away. You'd wrap...
