Kpf is the one position I've not ready seen him work well in, but might be worth a shot.
I think Cameron, Neale, Henry is enough making targets though. I'd bring in Neale to retain the ground level players
The whole article is based on Landsberger finding out that Collingwood players were told not to put photos of Smith on social media.
There could be a bunch of drivers for not wanting your players to advertise hanging out with an opposition player, especially one with with a publicised history...
I dunno, feels like the long deals are a bit of clubs trying to lock up their talent until Tassie is established. Is there a place for a 7 year Hopper contract past that?
I don't think Geelong has ever offered more than 5 years to any player ever, to include Dangerfield, Hawkins, Selwood etc. I can't imagine they would for Bailey
I look at the cats game and it was obvious roos players couldn't stick tackles. They're just not strong enough yet.
If you play all high upside kids who gets smashed in every 1 on 1 then are you actually going to develop kids or are you early 2010s Melbourne?
I have a strong suspicion we just field whatever we can if Conway isn't out there and try make up ground elsewhere. We've never valued rucks before, and state leaguers aren't going to be much better than Neale-Blitz
Yeah, well 2 years was never getting signed regardless. Not sure why they would start there unless they were putting a contract in front of him they didn't want him to sign
I don't think it's comparable really. Henry was in the vfl and Collingwood got a Brownlow medallist midfielder critical in a flag out of that trade. For a surplus player.
All I'm saying is that it's not realistically achievable to salvage anything like his actual value in any trade for him.
We'd be getting robbed, it would be unfair, but sometimes unfair things happen.
Holmes already takes midfield rotations and when he does he's been great, he just has to pick his battles because he hasn't developed the upper body strength yet. So I don't think it's correct at all to say he's just a flanker right now.
His worth would be a lot more than we'd get. I'm not...
He's not a flanker long term. A club trading him in as one would be within their rights to price him at that but if they are they don't know what they're trading for and aren't valuing him as highly as Geelong is.
Being ooc we wouldn't have a great deal of choice in the matter but I would be...
