I voted Voss but all 3 are great premiership captains. All led by example.
Those posters on here belittling Cotchin clearly did not watch him play. He threw himself into each contest without regard for his welfare as did Voss and Hodge. All 3 were great leaders.
Both Nick and Josh have great skills with Nick ahead. As a second year player he is, just like Judd, an eye catching star but Judd was more spectacular (the only opposition player that I tuned in to watch). He is certainly in the top 5 players in the AFL. I am not surprised about this (or Josh)...
It's interesting that you think it was Oliver. I watched with a mate, a Western Bulldogs supporter, and both of us think it was Jackson going into the ruck that turned the game. We also thought, as good as Oliver was, that Petracca was better.
Absolutely no need to insult Polly who was a better footballer than every other footballer that I have seen. I thought you were better than that.
As for this thread, Dusty is better in all facets of the game. Some people seem to forget that despite the high number of possessions that GAJ got in...
Not sure how that happened. Oliver was a liability in the second half. He was not in the best 3 players. Cox was B.O.G without any doubt in my opinion.
Stephenson is ahead right now but I saw some very positive signs from Raynor during the finals. I think Raynor is ready to tear the competition a new one this year.
Not in the frame in terms of this poll.
I rate Royce Hart as the best CHF ever. Carey is number 2. I understand that most bf members won't agree but they never saw Hart play.
Further to this Bereton and Sticks were nearly as good.
I agree. Cotchin took his game to a new level last year and was even better IMO than his stellar Brownlow year. Oh and he is also a Premiership Captain.
Good thread Lance. I notice a lot of posters are putting Joe down. This year i think he has taken his game to a new level. I can also see that he has more scope to get even better in the next few years.
Joe has the ability and capacity (lots of good midfielders to provide good service) to reach...
I, like the majority, voted for Bontempelli. The simple reason for me is that he is a better player because if he had 39 possessions in a final his teammates would be walking off the ground as winners. Actually, The Bont would not need that many possessions to have a major and more profound...
I am glad that you have the time to do this. Bradman's statistical advantage (over a long career) is pretty much without parallel in all sports. The only other sportsmen/women that I can think that rival it are Heather McKay, Wayne Gretsky, Walter Lindrum and Kelly Slater. He is right up...
No they aren't and I don't have to surprise you with anything new because I am not making the ridiculous claims. You are. Bradman's batting statistics are uniquely outstanding. You need to educate yourself before coming on to an internet forum and making assertions and claims that are not only...
No he doesn't. Show me just one stat where Matthews is twice or nearly twice as superior to the next best and you can make this claim. Otherwise stop making spurious claims.
Stats don't always tell the whole story. Peter Matera in the 1992 GF had (from memory) 15 kicks and 4 handpasses. He kicked 5 match turning then winning goals most from 50m or further. His opponent Mark Bairstow had about 30 possessions yet had no impact at all.
Matera gets my vote but all 3...
