Selwood a great player over a very long period but only once a top 5 in league player. Longevity, Bravery, Leadership are all outstanding. As a player outside of his leadership more on a level with Simon Black. Who was either the 4th or 5th best player who rolled through Brisbane's midfield...
Judd, Cousins, Kerr also had Cox in the ruck with Stenglein, Embley and Fletcher there as well. Fletcher fell off a cliff after 06 but was an AA, Embley who won a Norm smith and Stenglein who but for being traded would have been the next crows captain after Roo.
Ablett and Selwood no longer at...
I very much believe structure, tactics, coaching and on field leadership are much more important than talent. Franklin is an unbelievable player, the most talented player in the league and on his day almost unstoppable. However his play style is not conducive to structure, setups and team...
Considering the Issues we have at the moment and who we will get back and when the choices for the third player were either Walker at CHF or Paddy Ryder in the ruck imo. Not the best players in the league but very useful to west coast right now etc.
If I was picking 3 players to join west coast right now hmmmm. Shiel, Cripps, Bontempelli.
Then if you're looking for just this season? Danger, Fyfe and Walker would suit. Tex for chf, danger and Fyfe for power in the middle andmidfield goals. Would also be nice to see just how damaging Shuey...
If i had to pick one to join west coast at the peak of their careers to slot into our midfield now it would be Pendles. We already have that inside explosiveness with Shuey and Nicnat. Pendles not only would suit us perfectly but to my mind and using a comparison from my club. He is to inside...
Sydney, Gold coast, GWS, North Melbourne, Carlton and Essendon. For no other reason than given the opportunity i would happily take a dump at the front door of any of your clubs. Whingers, Drug cheats, Salary cheats and AFL condoned cheats! You can now all go and decide which of the above fit...
Matthews has a huge claim as one of the very best players ever but on coaching terms not so much. If we are only considering modern coaches (post 1990) then i would have malthouse the pick of the bunch personally. Only won 3 but coached 6 teams to grand finals and had the odds really heavily...
Riewoldt. Proven he can be a star in a shithouse team. Selwood has only proven he can be a top 10 player in an exceptional team. There will be a question mark for as long as he's playing in a dominant team and has great support and backup.
