Think it’s pretty likely the captain minimised the pressure in the cabin so all crew and passengers died in their seats.

They meteorologist on Sky weather just said that the forecast for Melbourne is tricky to predict. It might clear tonight but it’s best to just follow the radar. Also said there is guaranteed flooding in northern parts.
Basically, Melbourne is getting off lightly with this
