Guys - 2003 was our best season yet so obviously with basically an improved squad we expect a better 2004 season.
I beleive we will But what is your expectations on having a better season or a season that meets your espectations. ???

For me is winning the 1st final we play , I will be bitterly dissapointed if we miss out. To make the last 2 weeks of the year will absolutely blow my mind away - thats when were playing for keeps.

2003 has been our best season thus far and nothing short of a continued improvement in 2004 should be accepted.

All things even, I believe we have as much chance as any other side of making the top four, which is what our current goals should be for the end of this season. Furthermore, I would also be bitterly disappointed if we didn't manage to win at least one final after last year's performance.

Anything more than that would be a bonus at this stage.

Easy, fella's. This is not a make or break year for this group of players. We can show improvement without necessarily finishing in the top 4. We are still developing, and last seasons's 14 wins were an unexpected bonus. You can't have huge expectations of the team on the back of one good season. I'll be happy if we make the eight, and happier to win a final, but if we don't even make the finals I won't be slashing my wrists. Our best is still a couple of seasons away.

$#!^, when did you get back? I haven't seen you around since we were half way through organising the Fantasy Footy team which by the way is finished and we are STILL waiting on trade week!

I left Perth for a few weeks at the beginning of the year only to find that my computer had been hit by a virus when I returned. However, all is well now and it's great to finally have access to bigfooty once again. :)

To get some respect from the eastern states and the whople of the AFL we need to start winning more games away from home this year and finish no lower than seventh.

You never know what could happen to us this year and every other team, but i am crossing my fingers and hoping for a top four finish ( not a grand final appearance though)

I expect to improve over all as a team, get a percentage over about 110% and finish in the top 6 after the home and away season. It won't be the end of the world if we don't because our best is still a couple of years away but I think they are realistic expectations.

Its all about winning on the road.
IMO you will finish in the top 6, but like us (eagles) you need enough road wins to guarantee a home final to have any hope come the end of the year.
Yes you did only have one good season (2003), but that was built on the backs of rising young talent and you have a good coach.
A little bit more midfield grunt and you have what it takes to go the whole way, which could be as early as next year if you have a better finals campaign this year.
good luck
