That Bent Montgomery fellow better be good.

I also think Cleve Hughes will be drafted eleventh overall.

Dont know if I want him back if his damaged. but then again the irrepressible thought of him and the Eagle on the park on the same team brings back memories of the lone ranger and tonto.

Just another South Australian to add to the already massive list... The SANFL has been good to us in the previous years so I am not complaining.

Does anyone else share my concerns about drafting someone called 'Cleve'?

it's one step away from "cletus"

for the player photo shoots he'd have a piece of straw hanging from his gob.

nobody is serious about dafting montgomery are they?

I really hope not.

The guy is way past his prime with only 1, MAYBE 2 years MAX to play. Why on earth use a draft selection on him when we could get a young kid? Seems real dumb to me. Pods is understandable, and heck, he's not even old. 23 or 24 I think he is. But Monty? God. Think straight, people.

I wouldn't go for Monty in the PSD. It's just pointless. We aren't THAT desperate!

I've heard we're really keen on Michael West. Footydraft have him at pick 46 - Would be a case of most likely him or Pods to make sure we got him.

Michael West

Details:
Club: Redlands/Queensland
DOB: 16 February 1987 Hgt: 195cm Wgt: 85kg
Position: Full Forward/Ruck
Natural Foot: Right

Honours:
Queensland 2004
National Draft Camp 2004

Strengths: West is another of the developing talls from Queensland who had a good 2004. He is a forward who has such a fantastic leap he also has the ability to go into the ruck.

West is a fine set shot for goal, a strong mark and athletic. Actually can ruck pretty well and his kicking is very good.

Weaknesses: Can make some poor decisions, such as trying to mark from behind. Has a fair bit to learn about the game.

Footydraft.com comment: Promising player who could be gambled on late in the draft depending on how keen a team is for a tall.

Equation is taking him if we really are interested, or delaying Pods and allowing another team in. I suppose this is where Eade and Clayton make their dollars.

I agree with Cleve and Alan at 11 and 27. I'd like West at 46 and see whats left with 56 and 59.

With the PSD - Gasper is not looking a certainty to sign, i'd dump an uncontracted player for him in a heartbeat.

NO Monty. I love him, but all things have to stop. His time has come.

With our first pick I'd say we'll pick the best tall forward available, which is looking like Hughes with a chance of Dowler being available.
With our second pick I hope we could get Scott Pendlebury, but saying that Toovey will still be a good player and will give us another backman.
If the draft did turn out the way, IMO we would be way better of drafting Tim Looby than Hugh Minson with pick 46, but I doubt Looby he would go as low as 56 anyway. Eade should try to get him if we are in need of a running backman.
Don't draft Montgomery please.

Dont we have to use 59 because of the Rawlings trade?

I thought, and i am happy to stand corrected, but once we bring Morris on to the list we only need the draft three.
