Thats a good list, It would be interesting to see which individual team would be the strongest. I am a little biased towards Strathmore in the EDFL but reckon on paper they would be tough to beat.

What about the teams with sustained success. I know the mores have gone back to back as has Gisborne. The mighty doggies however have won 4 of the last 5 premierships in the Bendigo Football League. Great effort.:thumbsu: :thumbsu:

I think they would be hard pressed beating either of the dvfl grand finalists

This might seem obvious but i'd say Sandringham or Subiaco would be the best!

Having said that though it's pretty hard comparing unless you went to a few games from each premiership side.

Personally i believe Vermont (Eastern FL) & Heidelberg (DVFL) would both comfortably beat Strathmore. Probably a couple of Vic Country teams might too, like Yarrawonga, Seymour, South Barwon.
Would love to see these teams play each other, maybe in a pre season cup.

The following Senior sides were all premiers and also undefeated for season 2006

Wonthaggi Power (23)
Goorambat
Lorne
Thomson (19)
Harcourt
Gol Gol Hawks (39)
Federal
Horsham Demons (31)
Warburton Millgrove (20)

Brackets show how many games won in a row that I'm aware of.

Cheers,

Yeh thats good work, but i was wondering what the longest current premiership streak by a side is (ie. back-to-back, 3peat)??? Is there any current premiership streak longer than 3?????

I'm certain Vermont (as well as Noble Park) & Old Haileybury would toy with Strathmore.

just wondering why sydney reserves play in the ACT league and not the NSW league? is it a beeter league in the captial?

In a word - Yes.

The Swans came in when I was up in Canberra - basically needed to once the alignment with Port Melbourne fell through. With the alignment, the 10 better Swans played VFL (such as Plugger in his comeback), the remainder played for the 'Redbacks' in the SFL. This side was rookie listers, top-ups, RAMS kids I believe - and played only with 16 men on the paddock to increase competitiveness.

AFL NSW/ACT (or the Swans themselves) decided a full strength Swans reserves would crush the Sydney comp, and Canberra (a stronger league with less teams) was looking to bolster numbers. However they are doing a number on the ACTAFL as well!

Hope this helps

Cheers

I know this is mainly a seniors type forum but would like to say Tathra U/13's won their 4th in a row this year undefeated with a percentage of 1000. Must say a great effort from the young blokes.

Heading in the opposite direction. Drought breakers.
Irymple in the Sunraysia League (Mildura) won their first in 28 years after losing last year by a point with the last kick of the day.

Correct. OH or Xavs would smash Strathmore.
I think OH would have Vermont covered BTW. Some of the guys starring in that league were never as dominant in the ammos!

i think that is 3 in a row for North Beach (coached by Bill Duckworth) and possibly 5 of the last 6?

I think Kangarilla's grand final score as mentioned above was the 4th highest score in Australia in a grand final.

Not sure if that is correct but that's what is being floated around.
