Players to watch next season
Jack Grimes:
Be interesting to see if Grimes can perform like he has this year and from memory he still has a chance for the nab rising star next year. Needs to work on his kicking a bit though.
Jack Watts:
Average start to his career granted he has only just turned 18 and finished school. I'd like to see him start at FF and slowly learn to play CHF. Also he needs a big pre-season and get some muscle and weight on him so he doesnt get pushed around too much.
Sam Blease:
Very promising midfeilder who captained the Vic Metro squad. He has a lovely kick and has good overall game sense. Unlucky broke his leg in a bit of old kick to kick at school, he was a certain starter in the middle of the year. Hopefully it will be Blease, Jones and Scully in the midfeild for years to come?
Liam Jurrah:
A very promising forward for us. His ability to play tall and small is excellent. Jurrah haso ne of the best leaps and marks in the club and he can be a lead up forward for when we are streaming out of the backline thanks to Grimes
Austin Wonaemirri:
'Aussie' 'Oi!' 'Wona' whatever nickname suits your fancy this little bloke is a gun no doubt about it, he was exciting in 08 and due to injury hasnt played any games this season if i recall correctly. I'll place good money on hime to finish top 3 in Melbournes goal kicking, And yeah i rate him highly.
