a mate flew us to sydney for the match on his (hard earned) fly-buys points. he said....we're goin business class. we walked into the lounge which was great, then noticed there was another door to the 'real' lounge.....heaven on earth. we sat opposite trout's lovely wife on the flight up (afterwards we sank piss at scruffy murphy's with trout and his family)

we sat next to sydney cheer squad for first 3 quarters....then joined the rest of the tiges in the last.

i was there when st francis kicked that goal covered in blood, i was there when we beat the roys in '93 in extra time to get into pre-season gf, i was there when we smashed north in 95, i was there when we came back from 51 points down against the hawks, i was there for the qf vs cats and the pf vs giants

but that night ranks sooooooo damn close to me with this premiership.

in 2014 it was a generation of pain leading up to a complete underdog victory to get into the finals
2017 felt almost mythical

like the difference between rocky and rocky II, one was us, one was believable, the other.....hollywood

rocky II is my favourite and i never thought dreams could come true in real life....but they do

I flew up for that one - last minute decision jumped on the plane with no luggage or return ticket, caught the train from
Mascot to Central and then the footy special to Homebush. Sat at the Tigers end all game. The first quarter was amazing and had me convinced it was gonna happen. The last quarter was excruciating after Dusty's goal with the Swans peppering the goals and Rance repelling attack after attack. I smashed a few down in a nearby bar after the siren before taking the overnight train back to Melbourne. That was one hell of a trip back in itself! This game definitely ranks right up there in my favorites.

I was watching that one in hospital a couple of days after the birth of my first kid. The room’s TV didnt have Fox, so I had to watch via the Foxtel app in the iPad.

I’m still amazed that I managed to avoid waking up both him and my wife.

Flew over from Auckland. Organised a corporate suite through the Sydney Swans for a few of my Richmond nearest and dearest friends. They didnt trust Richmond would have a supporter from NZ hiring same, so made me pay in advance.
We were all so nervous we hardly ate or drank. When we won, a Swans staffer came in with a key to lock the fridge. I questioned this action, which upset them. We were allowed one last drink and advised that the last train from Homebush went in 40m.
Made our way to Chinatown in Syd CBD and had a few serves of Peking "Swan" with the crew and Phil Allison. Drank Tiger beers.

Great night on the road.

I was in Afghanistan for this game and most of the season (I left the week before our 9 streak). Listened to most of the games on a shitty internet radio stream that would always cut out in the tensest of moments. Went out on patrol before this game started and ran straight to my laptop when I came in and was bouncing off the walls when I saw the result. I’d told everyone about 6 weeks out that we would make finals and they told me I was full of shit.

The next week the worlds aligned and my scheduled day off coincided with the Elim final, it all got organised back through Canberra to have the game beamed to the TV in the rec room thing, I told everyone to leave me the **** alone for the next couple of hours. I didn’t even make it til half time

Remember going ballistic with my mate in his lounge room. Singing the tiges song loudly off his balcony. Before our incredible finals series this year it was the best win I'd ever experienced.

I was at home watching i remember looking at the time left in the second qtr and it showed 10:00, i was OMG still that much because it felt like i had been watching for 5 hours at that stage, last qtr couldn't watch as i was an emotional wreck, grabbed a beer and took off for a walk around the block, got back with 2 minutes left and went through hell until Flossy cleared it and then just teared up in a mix of emotion and sheer joy.

Went with the wife and a Cronulla supporting mate from work. We both experienced GF wins after epic droughts in consecutive years. Happy days.

that was an amazing experience , yea it didn't get much better at the time, remember driving home thinking i was king of the world , head out the window beeping the horn, Im glad that we did eclipse that feeling as it was kinda sad in a way that was the peak of supporting the tigers in the modern era. still, in its own right , a wonderful Y&B moment

i never realized you were a serviceman, thx man for serving our country, I just wanted to say that

I watched on TV. Got to early in the last quarter and couldn't handle it anymore.
Turned the TV off and just sat there in silence. Finally just laid down on the couch and waited until I knew the game was over.
Grabbed my phone and checked the scores and went totally ****en ballistic.
