Selfish...but my favourite game to kinda look forward to is round 1 Carl v Rich. But given they have no chance. I can't see an atmospheric crowd being there.

I hope we get Carlton twice

No chance.
We were bottom. You in top 6.
It will be once and given we played only an away game against Eagles this year, probably next year will be one of our few designated games at Etitihad Stadium v Eagles. Hopefully a twilight Saturday game in middle of winter.

Time to avenge last years capitulation. :p

But we might get a bottom 6 team twice. Technically it can be either 0 or 1 of these teams. If we did get a double up from this group, it will be Essendon due to the Woosha factor imo.

Maybe. The fact that we always tend to get Coll, Ess and Richmond twice means there is not many other clubs left for us to play twice.
We will get Essendon twice because, they like us are shite and bottom six side for now and probably Brisbane , Dees and St.Kilda twice. Collingwood twice and maybe Tigers just once this next year.

Just reading this article.
EXCLUSIVE: RICHMOND’S high-profile recruit Chris Yarran will square off against his old side Carlton in the Round 1 season opener next year, while controversial pick-up Jake Carlisle will be headed to the Adelaide Oval for his first game for St Kilda.

West Coast’s desire for more games at the MCG next year will get an early filip with the runner-up set to take on Hawthorn in a Grand Final rematch in Round 2.

And long-time rivals Collingwood and Essendon will meet only once this season on Anzac Day — the first time this has happened since 1991 — with the two teams in different parts of the weighted draw.

The Sunday Herald Sun can reveal the full fixture for Round 1 next season, with clubs being informed of the finalised plans late Saturday afternoon.

Brendon Bolton will launch his AFL coaching career against Richmond when the season starts on the Thursday night leading into the Easter weekend.

Yarran was finally traded to Richmond last week after a long standoff between the two clubs over whether he was worth pick 12, which the Blues wanted. It was left until the final half-hour of the trading period when Carlton finally blinked first in the game of brinkmanship, releasing the rising 25-year-old for pick 19.

As expected, there will not be a match on Good Friday, but a bumper Easter weekend will see the nine games played over four days, including the stand-alone Easter Monday clash between Geelong and Hawthorn.
That clash will see the Cats unveil Patrick Dangerfield for his first game in club colours, with the prospect of Scott Selwood, Lachie Henderson and Zac Smith joining him for the clash with the triple premiers.

Collingwood is on the road for its first clash, taking on Sydney at ANZ Stadium on the first Saturday night of the season.

The Demons take on Greater Western Sydney in what is Paul Roos’ final season as senior coach.

The new-look Bombers will head to the Gold Coast to take on the Suns in new coach John Worsfold’s debut at the helm, while North Melbourne takes on Adelaide at Etihad Stadium.

Western Bulldogs will host Fremantle at Etihad Stadium, desperate to atone for the shattering elimination final loss and to build on what was an outstanding first season under coach Luke Beveridge.

St Kilda takes on Port Adelaide at the Adelaide Oval, with the Power having picked up Charlie Dixon and Jimmy Toumpas from Gold Coast and Melbourne respectively in the trade period.

New West Coast recruit Jack Redden has the chance to come up against his former team Brisbane in the first round, with the Lions given the task of heading to Perth in week one.

Would be great to see Kennedy outscoring them by himself ;)

Fully expecting us to cop all 8 interstate teams at home this season, up from 7 interstate teams at home last season.

When do you start playing Eagles and Port Adelaide in Ballarat ?
Is that 2016 or 2017 ?
I believe we wanted both South Australian teams in Ballarat, makes the journey by road a little closer for them

2017 the earliest, probably 2018 though.

Oh dear,

What a horrible round 1 fixture.

I am so sick of watching Melbourne host round 1 games against Interstate Minnows.

I would much rather have an away game in the first round against those teams.

Jeremy Cameron and Jess Hogan at the G. Pettracca, Brayshaw, Jack Viney, Salem, Gawn, Mumford, Dylan Shiel, Patton, Devon Smith, Whitfield and Josh Kelly all in the same game.
Quality opening day game at the G on Easter Saturday.
Do not look a gift horse in the mouth.
It is too early for you Dee fans to head up to the snow.
