Pie 4 Life
Hall of Famer
Semi-finals:
SF1: Mozzie Bites vs. Outback Meerkats
The Mozzie Bites tried everything to win last week, hell their captain even KO'd a bloke to try and get the 'W'. But no matter what they tried, they could not do enough to get near The Cheetahs despite their best efforts. Tom Mitchell always looms as the huge threat and could be the difference between winning and losing. For the Meerkats, they looked down and out for all money midway through the game with the Bears, but a bit of luck and some good final scores on the last day saw them claim the win. Expect the Mozzies to be a bit too good here, but the loss of Andrew Gaff will hurt.
SF2: South West Dragons vs. The Ladyboys
The Ladyboys are on track for another third placed finish, which is exactly what most expect them to do. The Dragons have been good all season, but much like any side associated with Pie 4 Life, have been devastated by injury or shitness. No JJ Kennedy or Patrick McCartin leaves the Dragons short up front, with Jeremy Howe still out down back and Luke Dahlhaus a handy player also missing. The Ladyboys look at pretty close to full strength and more consistent across the line-up, so all the pressure is on them to make it through to a prelim The backs are good, Matt Crouch is a big ball winner and Seb Ross is another good scorer. Jed Anderson could be the weak link in the side, especially going head-to-head with Ben Cunnington. The one saving grace for the Dragons is, utility Jarrod Witts is facing Ivan Soldo and Shaun Grigg, so if he doesn't easily ton up, there is something wrong.
Write-ups to come once teams are out.
