Given the season we have just had, and the peaks and troughs we all went through, i thought i'd rank our top 10 wins for the season.

1. Grand Final- Goes without saying our greatest moment this year, possibly of all time.
2. Qualy Final- Had to battle hard and showed the grit we had seen all year.
3. Pre Lim - One of our best 4 quarter performances all year, shut down the fairy tale pretty quick and must have p1ssed all the media off :)
4. Port Rd 21- IMO basically set up a top 2 finish, lose this and we most likely finish 4th, plus nice to do it to them again after the siren.
5. GWS Away- Went in with some major players out against the AFL love child and once again toughed out a good win.
6. Pies at the G rd17- Got rid of the big arse gorilla on their backs, and would have no doubt played a part mentally GF day that they could win at the G against a good side.
7. Hawks Rd10- Our bogey side in the past in Melbourne, scrappy win but showed this group was starting to get it right between the ears
8. Tigers- Showed early in the season we may be onto something special by smashing the red hot favs even when they challenged us.
9. Cats- Came with the big 3 and all the hype, came back at us during the game, but we showed once again we were not intimidated by anyone.
10. Lions - Might seem odd to add a win against a bottom side, but given what we were playing for and all the media talk about a danger game against the up and coming young Lions, we put it to bed early that this was no danger game and guaranteed the easier path to the holy grail.

I almost completely agree with your order
My minor variations are mostly just nitpicking
1. GF - Never gave up , did it against the odds after a bad start , and what an amazing way to do it . Outright game of the year , and what at atmosphere and time to be alive!

2. PF - One of our best first halves ever , and against a highly fancied opponent . Knowing we (and I ) would be going to the GF early into the game was a great feeling

3. QF - Came from behind and won a crucial game . If this wasn’t a QF it would’ve been lower than a few of our away games as we were favourites

4. Pies at the G Round 17 - This game was crucial as not only did we defy 20+ years of history to overcome the huge monkey on our back , but we did it without NicNat after halftime . My celebrations were tempered by the depressing suspicion (and later , confirmation ) that he had done an ACL again , however , this win was so important . It will be the first home and away game I watch once the season pack is released /when I purchase it .

5. Tigers at home - we were slight underdogs (despite the venue ) but announced our arrival as a premiership contender and blew them away in one of our most impressive performances of the season

6. GWS at home - had some major outs with no Kennedy /Darling /LeCras /Ryan (ie no forward line ) and were the underdogs , but put in a commanding performance against a highly fancied opponent . This is also the day that Simmo himself said that he knew we could win a flag

7. Port away - the record against port and their mental demands continue . I booked Flexi GF flights and accommodation after this win because I dared to believe . Only downvoted this due to Port’s eventual bottom 10 finish and the awesomeness of some of our other wins

8. Hawks away - I was at this game because I was in Melbourne for a work conference (I may or may not have signed up for it just because we were playing the weekend after ;)) and it had been a while since my last win in Melbourne (having been to a few Hawks games in Melbourne in the past ), but we got the job done :) . Downvoted due to it being at Etihad and also relatively early in the season (before the Hawks really established their form ), but what a game!

9. GWS away - After an amazing record against GWS in their early years of the competition , we lost to them multiple times last year . To turn this around early in the year against a highly fancied opponent at their home ground really helped setup our season. It was a wonderful birthday present for me too :)

10. Eagles v Port at home - at the time , Port were flying , but we put in a commanding performance to crush their spirits , boost our % and send a message to the competition

HMs
Brisbane away - needed to win this danger game to setup top 2, and we did it
Carlton away - it was hard fought until the end against a cellar dweller , but our class rose to the top when it mattered . The mental demons (if we had lost ) would’ve been huge. But instead we got the points , and setup a 3-0 year at the G (including finals ).

DHM
Essendon - outright worst loss this year given essendon’s position on the ladder and the venue . We were heavy favourites , and yet , were never in the game :( . It weakened our home record too .

North - our second worst loss for the year (though worst in terms of outright margin ). Circumstances were against us .

Adelaide - I was at the game with my Adelaide -supporting bestie . She and another friend thought we had it in the bag by half time , but I was nervous , and sure enough , we capitulated against them and couldn’t run out the game . We’re now 0-2 in games I have watched at Adelaide oval . I need to start attending port games .

Sydney round 1 - like most , was so excited about the stadium opener and it was amazing to be there , but the loss (albeit to a highly rated team who has always had our measure ) left everyone in stunned silence

Finals aside:
*= away

v Geelong (first win at new stadium)
v Richmond
v Hawks*
v Collingwood*
v Port*

Without a heap of thought and needing to sleep:

GF (Obvious)
QF (Heart)
GWS AWAY (I loved this win. Missing best defender, ruck, forward, mid, something like that. Good tough 4 quarter performance. Shut the game down well in the last)
RICH (We actually did beat Richmond. Most of the media seemed to forget pretty quickly)
COLL (Broke the streak. Fixed things after a slow start)
PORT AWAY (More grit and comeback. Déjà vu)
PF (1 way traffic)
GWS Home (They were plucky. Always good to beat this talented list)
HAW (Another team with some wood over us. Good solid tough performance)
CARL (I've put this here because we didn't play too well, but got through it. Important to do)

Encouraging Loss
Melbourne@home (Without some key players and getting so close (in front late), I was actually pretty buoyant after this game)

WORST losses
NORTH (Was really worried about the midfield after this one)
ADE (2017 fadeout stuff)
ESS (Almost a mirror of last year's game at Marvel Stadium. Blown out of the water early-stem the bleeding-but never get close. Hopefully it's not 3rd time in a row next year)
SYD AWAY (Frustrating as shit game. Bad entry and decision making in our attacking half. Should've won)

The first Derby was one of my favourites. Also a game we started slow in and had to come back from a few goals. The boys did it all year really.

Richmond game was my favourite H&A I think. Collingwood game was ruined by NN injury
It was mine too. I got married the day before and then went to the game with 3 great mates. The sun was shining and we smashed them. I remember getting drunk and really starting to believe we were the real deal. Darling getting off the chain was great to see - made Rance look like a crab.
