Got a job interview on the 22nd. I hate job interviews.
You're not alone, but there are a few things you can do to help yourself out...

1. You made interview, so you're a winner! Plenty won't have got that far...

2. Go in believing your the best person for the job... anything else puts you at a disadvantage.

3. Build rapport! Ask them how they're doing? Remember, interviewing is a long, long day...

5. Prepare some STAR responses that cover the points listed in the role. Use the one you think most suits the question. They will most likely have things they need to check off, and STAR responses ensure you don't ramble due nervousness.

4. Ask for feed back. Looks like you're willing to learn from mistakes, and will help with future interviews.

Remember: If you can do everything they need, and so can someone else, it will come down to who will fit their team better, and there's nothing you can do about that. So not getting a job you've applied for doesn't necessarily mean you failed.

EDIT: Lol! I can't count... ha ha ha

Good luck! Fingers crossed!!!

Best of luck mate. And you're not alone, I'd rather start as a temp then get offered a permanent then do an interview. God I hate them.

Thanks a lot as that is excellent advice. I am lucky in that I already have a job, and this is essentially just a better job within the same organisation but I also know if I don't get through the interview I can't apply again for another year.

and yes, I know I can do the job, I just need to convince them of that :)

With saad out also

There a few big outs

Still think it will come down to there talls

Lol! for years the incorrect use of the English language drove me crazy, and I have correct people on the use of the English language.

However now I rarely write anything except on here where I type, and I find that all kinds of grammar and spelling errors have crept in. So finally, after 50+ years, I have an understanding of those who don't write very much in the day to day lives, can have small issues with words that can be spelt differently, but are all said the same. It's not like I don't know what they mean, it just bugs me that they're incorrect... so I have decided that perhaps I shouldn't be quite so persnickety...

When I was a kid my mother would always correct me if I misused the words "less" or "fewer" :p

I used to years ago, but I realise my grammar isn't always the best and these days on the internet you don't know if someone is using English as a second or third language. Not to mention some people bite back as though you're insulting their intelligence when you're just trying to genuinely help them. Having said that, I can't get my head around the lose/loose and payed/paid errors.

People use "fortunately" and "unfortunately" so interchangably I was beginning to wonder if I had it wrong :p

One spelling (or grammatical) error that drives me particularly nuts (and there are many that drive me nuts) is the inclusion of an apostrophe before the 's' in a plural. I still reckon many people put it there because they don't understand apostrophes. But I've also noticed my phone "autocorrecting" by inserting apostrophes where they don't belong and I typically don't notice until I've posted a reply (and sometimes don't notice even then). If I do, I go back and edit, lest anyone think I don't know how to use apostrophes. But it's taught be to be more tolerant of those who put them where they don't belong. It may be their phone, not them.

There are probably other autocorrects (or autoincorrects) that devices make that we don't notice in an informal setting where we don't always proof what we read.

Take a compendium with pen and paper look like you want to take notes during the interview, even jot things down, ask questions, ask what your first month will be like when you start. Ask about strategic planning, why the job is vacant etc

That is good advice.

If I get the job I am going to be going into 11 months of training, which will be interesting. I will try and think of job specific questions to ask though to give the impression I am very keen.

Just remember they also need to impress you
