Michigan State @ USC a battle of 2 3-0 teams kicking off at 11pm EST.

Fun fact is that MSU are ranked as the 39th of 39 remaining undefeated teams. We have flashes of good, but the 3 wins so far have been a touch underwhelming. Not expecting much here.

Gotta love some Big 10 after dark! Bit hard to know exactly where both teams are at. SC demolished MO State and Georgia Southern as you would expect a good team too, would have liked to have seen a bit more of a complete performance in the win over Purdue.

On the other side, Michigan State accounted easily for Western Michigan who are pretty horrid, I don't have rate BC very highly and Sparty pipped them in OT and Youngstown State are a good FCS program but having 24 points put on them by the Penguins isn't exactly ideal.

Expecting a USC victory but really unsure of exactly how it will play it.

The other games that intrigue me are Rutgers and Iowa & Tulane and Ole Miss. Reckon both Rutgers and in particular Tulane are live.

I dont think MSU are that good. they fluked a win over BC who we beat by a couple of scores.

I also dont think USC are anything more then mid of the table in the Big10, but should win this one

I'm quietly (well now that I'm voicing it, more loudly) confident on USC this year. The offense is genuinely very good to the point it might not matter how leaky the defense is.

Feel like the Purdue game is a game they lose last year given the circumstances, on the road, big delay e.t.c but it was never in doubt for them.

Think they can get Illinois with Illinois backing up after Indiana this week, still not sure what to make of ND or Nebraska which are tough road games no matter how good they are and don't think there's any chance of a victory in Eugene.

Purude along with UCLA i think are the 2 worst teams in the Big10. I dont think USC will beat Illinois they are actually good for a change. and looking at the schedule there is a chance USC @ Illinois is the Fox Big noon game since they dont have any 2AM games yet along with UCLA/Northwestern. Ohio St/Washington has no time but CBS have the game and Indiana/Iowa is Peacock

I think its ironic UCLA killed the Pac-12 to be the worst team in the Big10 for cash. and think if UCLA didnt follow USC would of stayed put. but for killing the conference of champions both teams deserve endless losing seasons

I was a big Pac-10/12 fan boy, but lets be real, it killed itself through horrendous decision making. Also, perhaps if other teams in the conference, cough NorCal teams cough, spent a bit more money and took football a bit more seriously it might have been in a better place towards the end.

Pac-12 was fine till USC left we finally replaces Larry Scott. they had the Big12 TV offer with a bit extra cash before USC ran for money. and the current Big12 deal was still on the table once USC/UCLA left but one of the Arizona schools kept blocking it trying to get more money then once the Big12 took the offer it was withdrawn and thats what caused Washington/Oregon running to the Big12.

UCLA are also losing money on the Big10 deal because of the money they need to pay Cal every year for leaving the Pac-12.

If the Pac-12 stayed together the Big12 was prob the one to fall apart. But if USC never went behind the backs of everyone and started talks with the Big10/Fox, it never falls apart.

and blaming Stanford/Cal is funny, Stanford won the most Pac-12 titles and had only just started to stumble when USC ran off. No worse then what UCLA have been and still are

Larry Scott is the sole reason for the demise of the Pac-12. Pac12 Media and offices in San Francisco were an absolute money pit. If they align themselves with an ESPN, Fox or CBS like the SEC and ACC instead of trying to build their own network the Pac-12 still exists, or the reason why USC and others leave is purely to improve long term playoff aspirations and not the combination of tv money and better playoff bargaining power.

The writing was on the wall, USC was just the first to go, if they hadn't of gone first, Oregon would have.

My dig at Cal and Stanford was a bit tongue in cheek, I have a soft spot for Cal and as much as it was painful to experience from an opposing teams perspective, watching CMC at Stanford are some of my favourite college football games I've ever watched, however, you cannot deny they are unwilling to spend money on football (Cal seem to be wanting to get serious). Oregon technically have one more than Stanford.

UCLA could fold the football program tomorrow and I would not care one bit.

Pac-12 network could of worked if they tried harder and got onto more providers/DTC. but Larry Scott was a disaster. spending millions a year on a HQ they didnt need. If they pushed him out earlier the Pac12 would still be around today. Just like i believe if USC stayed it would never have fallen apart and would of expanded.

I also think one day Stanford will end up in the Big10 next time realignment goes [ACC and Big12 will get picked apart by SEC/Big10 in 5+ years when the buyouts are lower and SEC/Big10 are looking to go back to market on new TV deals]. the Schools wanted us but Fox didnt and if we can get back to what we were before 2019 we will get Fox on side. We will be a package deal with ND since last time ND tried to get us in the Big10 and was who started to conversations with the ACC once the Big10 couldnt get Fox to agree.

Oregon were blindsided by the USC move. they were happy to stay until the ESPN/Fox deal started to fall apart then jumped at a discount like Washington.

USC is to blame for the death of the Pac-12, but USC dont go looking around if Texas never jump the the SEC.
Hell if Texas didnt have the Longhorn network they and Oklahoma join the Pac-12 over Utah/Colorado in 2011.

Conference alignment has done so much damage to the sport. and has killed so many regional rival games

Need to go back to proper regional conferences but that will never happen with so much money at play.
Best we will get are divisions/pods when its just the SEC and Big10 and then group of 5.
Which might just be the Big10 and SEC breaking away and forming their own league outside of the NCAA

Its just greed really.

Okie dokie state is down 16-3 to Tulsa at home at the half in the Turn Pike classic.

Tulsa haven't beaten them since 1998 and last win in Stillwater was 1961

The problem with Arch Manning is he surely is injured (shoulder) but playing thru it coaches letting or pushing him to still start, and hes throwing with a compromised mechanic to lessen the pain, and its all messing him up. Hes much better per se, healthy, than what we're seeing in 2025

No surprise there in regards to Arch.
Was always unlikely to be a 1 year starter. when he did play last year didnt light it up. Not sure Texas was the school for him, Sark isnt a good coach

How the hell are Miami only up by 6 on the swamp lizards with 9:30 left in the game?
i mean you should know. he held you guys back a few years
