Hi All,

I've posted this on twitter and facebook but so far no luck... within the last couple of days someone posted a picture of the tigers times for a 2km time trial..

I forgot to save it and now can't find it - does anyone have a copy of this you could share?
I work with one of the dads and mentioned it to him, he's keen to see how his boy and the rest of the team are tracking..

Regards

Tony

I don't think I saw it BO_Gas , but I believe Ellis was second...

He is looking like a real pickup atm , Not sure about his playing style looking at the highlight looks to be an outside running wing / hf , I wonder if he has a inside game

Talked to a mad swans fan before Christmas and he was a big wrap. Said he was surprised and disappointed he got delisted - a victim of the swans depth.

The Swans know that he'll be a gun, and so they don't want to spend another year or developing him, only then to lose him because they dont have the money in the limit to pay him what hes worth.

Thanks for posting that Lama94 appreciate it, is it legit and can you reveal your tomato (source) ??. Interesting thing for me is their PB's and target times for 2014. Also the date this was done 30 November.so those who are a bit down from PB's still have plenty of time to improve. I wonder how the fitness staff set the 2014 targets i.e. McBean and Jack's PB and target times are curious for me.

I understand that there's a lot of ways to be slow. You can be slow to react, slow over ten paces, slow over 2km and so on.

Dunstall and Lockett were both very quick, in their way, which involved blubbery little bursts in a straight line.

Astbury gets a lot of stick on here for being slow. All I'm saying 6:35 is not slow for 2 kms. Big Dave obviously covers the ground over a distance pretty well.

And as Nostra observed, he already hit his 2014 target :thumbsu:

Players who have beaten their personal bests, and by how much:

Matt McDonough: -17 seconds.
Brett O'Hanlon: -11 seconds.
Daniel Jackson: -7 seconds.
Kamdyn McIntosh: -5 seconds.
David Astbury: -3 seconds.
Brandon Ellis: -2 seconds.

Most positive sign for me is Astbury and McDonough. Astbury reaching his 2014 target so early on in the season is a massive bonus, which means he has exceeded expectations. Matty McDonough is the biggest one for me though. His endurance and fitness base was the one thing that he needed to work on, so to come out and beat his personal best by a whole 17 seconds is just phenomenal.

If this is legit, Astbury is way quicker than posters on BF give him credit for.

And he is !

I have watched Davis Astbury many times live and have always said that whilst he isnt fast , He certainly isnt as slow as what people on here are making him out to be.

I posted a couple of months ago that i believed just to the naked eye that he was just as quick as Jack Riewoldt and looking at these numbers he is alot quicker than most imagined.

Dissapointed in the times for both Elton & Griffiths thought these 2 boys were much quicker than the times suggest

Pleasantly suprised with McIntosh's Times

The thing with Astbury he always slows down a little bit before going into a contest. He's a one-on-one defender and not a loose half-back.

A little bit cautious with his approach, I don't think I've seen him give away blatant free-kicks like Rancey has. Should improve with more confidence down back.

Had a little word with Astbury after an open training session and he's looking to play both forward and back next season.

Everyone's hating on him because he wears 12. If it was a number like 19, we'd be saying how much he is better than Dan Connors.

Daniel Jackson: -7 seconds.

For a guy who actually can be resting on his laurels after a stellar season, also on the wrong end of his 20s, and considering retirement around a year ago...

This man is bloody impressive. So glad to have him in the side now.

I'm not hating on him at all. He can play, but there's no denying he was very slow last year. Hopefully he's improved in that area.

Dunstall and Lockett's blubbery little bursts would leave DA in their wake.

Hahaha, those blubbery little bursts left every FB in the competition between 1980 and 2000 panting helplessly two steps back! It will be a loooong time before anyone gets close to Plugger's record. He was awesome.

But, the game has moved on, and now it's the midfield's job to shut down the supply to a blubbery little lead, while the FB peels off on a 100 metre lead to the opposite wing. Rance was awesome at this last year.

Dan Jackson - for a guy that I wanted out like nothing else, he has become one of my favourite players.

Why? Because he never gave up..., and that is all I ask of anyone wearing the yellow and black.

Agree Tigerland , Me I've always had a soft spot for Dan , although he did have a couple of issues with suspension. He pretty much ran himself into the ground each week, he also provided physical cover for developing/younger guys in close, as well as being hard as nails on opposition key mids. Much of his work was done in tight packs like Tuckey. So it was easy to miss. He has never been (to my knowledge the kind of guy to give up) and clearly the coaches value him highly, could it be all these years they knew something most of us here on BF didn't ?
