Player Watch #34: Jackson Archer

I was otherwise engaged for much of yesterday, so missed out on the news. I am just rapt for the kid and it's the shot in the arm that this club needs right now. Everyone here would love nothing more than to pull on the Royal Blue and White stripes and run out for this club, but it is a select few that get this chance.

The discussion here reminds me of Steven Bradbury. Everyone reckons he fluked an Olympic Gold. I prefer to focus on the 20 or so years of hard work and dedication that got him the opportunity to win it in the first place.

Kill 'em Jacko!

I mean, if we can't find room for a year or two for an Archer or Harvey or some other son of a gun, just shut it down and move to Hobart. If we don't want a soul, we would be half way there

Jeeze for a little bit there I even liked listening to Damo. Amazing what this debut is doing to bring people together... (for about three minutes.)

Come on now, this is pretty cool. How can you not love both announcement videos?

What I'd like to do now is move past this being Glenn's son and (I'm sure Glenn would feel this way too) make this about Jackson.

Growing up with a high profile very successful parent who has afforded their children a lifestyle they never had could've produce a kid with all kinds of wrong about them.

That Jackson comes across as a humble, determined sweet kid at this stage is a credit to him and his family. Hope like heck this is the start of a fantastic North Melbourne career for him.

It's his journey now.

So many things to love about this debut video.

The hug from JHF (wants out apparently!)

Things might not be great out our beloved football club right now but if this video shows one thing it's that we've got a very tight playing group and that counts for a lot moving forward. We'll turn this around I have no doubts.

I'm not fussed whether he is ready or not give him a taste and its really got people up and going this selection and that's just what we need besides a win.

Ready or not Jacko bleeds blue and white and it will show on Sunday. He will die trying this kid and we will love him for it like we love his dad.

Sweet kid? He must have got that from his mother.
