I know Woosha predicted a top 4 finish at the start of the year, but it was obvious that with early injuries we would never get there. Infact we never even looked like making the 8. I think to get to where we did by round 18 and blooding so many youngsters during the course of the year has made this whole year a success. Not only have we developed some KPPs to fill some of the voids that were apparent in last years team but we have also created some depth which is important to any team if they are to be serious finals contenders in the future. We have finished with more wins than last year to make the finals again, maintained our strong home ground advantage, produced 2 All Australians and have a player who has taken mark of the year to go along with Kerrys goal of the year last year. (Someones got to do the state proud ;) )
The competition is strong at the moment with a lot of good young clubs emerging so I'm not predicting a top 4 finish next year, but with a decent trade or two this year i can't see any reason why we shouldn't be able to go one further and earn a home finals place.
Roll on 2005!!!

I think it was a great year for the club. We have blooded youngsters all year and still been good enough to make the 8 without our most influential player in Gardiner. This will be the year we look back on once we win the premiership as the turning point.

Sounds greedy, but I would have liked to at least beaten Sydney last week. It came down to experience for the new players.

It was a good finish and I think 2005 will be far better with a great team. No slow starts next year :)

It was another small step forward. In Wooshas first year at the club we had 11 wins, last year 12 wins and this year 13 wins. The next step is to get to 14 wins and secure a home final.

I'd be disappointed with anything less than 15 wins. One extra win per year is not good progress IMO.

Not a bad year overall; considering where we were after 10 odd rounds, the team really turned it around and ended the season full of run

Hopefully having Gardiner back next year and with the youngsters getting more games, we should only get better

Its much easier to go from bottom4 to mid-table than it is from mid-table to top4. The higher up the table you get the harder it is to improve. As long as we are still improving you can't really complain. We still have a number of improvements we have to make and the trade period should be interesting.

I'm disappointed in the way our season ended, but not the way we finished the H&A we made alot of in-roads. Woosha & the coaching staff put alot of work into fnding a way to finish off a season strongly no doubt a goal at the start of the yr which paid off.

We also blooded some very impressive players in Seaby, Butler, Waters etc.

Well the facts say we are getting better, 11 to 12 and now 13 wins but I think we all know that regardless of the win tally, we took a huge step forward this year. It was obvious with the improvement of so many youngsters. The only way is forward next year.

Forget the number of wins we had. It meant nothing in the end.

However, I do regard our season as very productive as in the amount of talent we unearthed during the season.

Those wise men from the east bagged us till they finally sat up and noticed a spine being developed by the club.

I take my hat off to the WC for their talent spotting.

Guys like Waters, Glass, Butler and Co are the future of this club.

Well done Eagles.
