I thought this kid, was sensational today in his 50th game, He through him self at the ball, did some magnificent tackles, went back with the flight.

He deserves to acknowledged as an improved tiger because he gives alot of effort unlike a few players on our list.

What are your guys thoughts on his game and his future at the tigers

jesus, that second quarter passage of play when he threw himself in numerous times to keep the ball in...just doesnt get any better than that. Your a star Patto!

i'm a big fan of patto too - but we have got to find him a position fast otherwise he will fadeaway - if we do infact get Warnock (whose rucking abilities are superior to patto) in the trade period,

where does that leave patto

playing in a forward line along with hughes, richo, riewoldt, hughes and possibly polak? i dont think so

needs to carve out a position for himself or all his effortsd are invain

has been really good the last few weeks. needs to get a more game time as i believe his hardness around the packs adds another dimesion to our midfield. his ruckwork is getting better and always creates a contest. 47% match time is just not enough.

in reguards to warnock, his abilty around the ground is shithouse. with the modern game the flexiblity of another onballer outweighs a tap ruckman

Still learning, but I can see a huge upside in Patto. His hunger for a contest and his willingness to sacrfice his own game for the betterment of the game in invaluable.
Will be a 150-game player. Won't be a star and will the type of player that other club's supporters won't rate, but from the inside, in his own circles, will earn plenty of respect. Long term player and will be a part of our next generation. :thumbsu:

He tries his hardest, may not be the most skilled player, but you cant question his endeavour. Also one of the most clumsiest looking players when he runs with the ball on the wing too.

Dont know why we would look at Warnock when we have this bloke yeah perhaps his skills let him down but with more time will improve can not question his endeavour , if more players showed his endeavour we would be better off.
Would rather chase another midfielder than ruckman.

I love the kid! He has a lionheart and never gives up. I love letting out a big "LETS GO PATTO" when he comes down to the fence for the warm up. Ive got a feeling he loves it too! :D

He is on 50 games now as a 21 year old, He'll have 150 games by the time he is 26 at this rate.
He is a good mobile ruckman that gives you an extra player fighting for the ball in the stoppages, he also creates space and plays a linking role as well. He is TW's richmond version of Darcy.

he moved up a few notches in this game. I even thought his ruck work was quite good, since he was up against apparently, "the best ruckman" going around, as is suggested by a few nuff nuff commentators.
Really looked mobile as well, and he has learnt the fine art of only doing what you know you can do and not doing what you think you might do. ;)

Have always seen a lot of Benny Gale in Patto's game. Not necessarily his skill level but similar attitude and application, He's getting there and will be a better than decent ruck option. I was thinking yesterday how Cox was relatively quiet against us but had 38 poss against Charman and Clark. Simmo n Patto are developing into a decent combo.

i think patto is going to be alright...
he has a massive heart, good endurance and a decent set shot (from wat i remember)... he is a goer... its funny because the amount of people i told this too two years ago they are said that he was gone and was filling up the list...

the question to ask is Patto or Laycock.... i think the answer was in saturdays game...
GO PATTO

Do they still give Best Clubman awards? If they do then Patto will be a mutiple winner I reckon.
Does all the important little stuff very well and is learning more about the rucking game each outing.

Strikes me as a bit of a goof-ball as well and every club needs some bloke that sticks chilli powder in other guys jocks or quietly pisses on them in the showers. :D

Patto's the man... :thumbsu:

or takes the piss out of Richo:D

Big fan of Patto

patto is sensational around the ground (for a big guy) but the thing that he needs to work on is his ruck taps while he is ok in this area he can get a whole lot better, if we can take his ruck ability to the next level we might have a star on our hands. but where does he fit in if he fails as a ruckmen, i carnt see him getting a gig in the forward line permanently or do we just persist with him as a 2nd ruck that can rest in the forward line? i think theres definetly a place for him in the 22 no doubt about it but im not sure if he will be our 1st choice ruck or just a backup ruck that can go forward a bit. i guess time will tell....

We all seem to agree on Patto. I thought Astro Toby and Foley4Brownlow summed it up pretty well. He needs a position. In a wild moment, I thought about CHB, but the issues of accountability and mobility probably rule that out. Saw him get carved up against Sydney by Everitt when he was in a defensive role.
But he is like Jake King, they give everything and you gotta have that at Richmond. Is there room for two of them? Dunno, but it's nice to have them when it gets tough and close.

Up there Pattoooo! Hopefully Sir Les can find something more to add to his game, because unfortunately he has not shown enough to suggest he will be Simmonds replacement.
