How big are their club rooms? Can they accommodate 50,000 people?

And that is the next bit. Crows to leave Footy Park and build a whole new facility at the Uni grounds.
As long as we don't have all those students hanging around our clubrooms!

Cmon Elvis. Clubrooms only a short stagger from the AO. You have to be happy about that.

Prblem is you can't increase your footprint on the parklands. The Soccer club has just built a new changerooms and we have to knock 3 others down to compensate for it.

Bigger picture could be that this is the start of our move into the city in terms of training facility and clubrooms etc. Is a great location for aftermatch venue.

Basically form an alliance with the Adelaide Uni team to use their oval and build our next facility there?

Go one step further and turn the Unibar into Crows Cafe, the Barr Smith lawns into Kids' Kick and Catch zone, after game presentations in Elder Hall and invite Essendon for preseason training in the chemistry labs.

A good idea to attach to an amateur club. But not Uni, they embody all that's left of amateurism and exist to provide alumni with a sporting club, this marriage goes against what they stand for. Most other clubs would jump at the chance, lets leave an institution intact, pick one with a good location and less heritage to lose.

Then I guess you need to take it up with their committee, given that it appears they support it.

It's not like this is a hostile take over

Good move for top up players, and potential links to their buildings and stuff on match days and as a second training ground (is it closer to any other AFL ground in a way that will benefit us, Footy Park has been reshaped to be close to AO?)

I don't see the West Lakes facility as a big fail like most people, most clubs have since spent a similar amount on a training ground and if its no longer needed for some of the function centre things that could provide opportunity for further training facilities in the future? not sure never had a good look around. Other clubs are moving out of the city into cheaper less desirable areas with theirs. West Lakes is still in a good area for the players who seem to mostly live in the Western suburbs.

The free rent and maintenance for the ground is good for us also.

The only benefit of moving now would be if we can some how get a payout on that free lease from the SANFL/future developers and buy good land now before its too expensive in say 10 - 20 years time.

Not suggesting it is, I'm just lamenting something that will be lost and can never be retrieved.

Don't have a problem with the use of facilities etc.

Yeah piss off this doesn't concern you.
