Just saw the movie 'Almost Famous' on Foxtel and have decided that I have a new favourite film. rock and roll.

I cant find what the name of the song they are singing on the bus is though, any ideas?

What are everyone's thoughts on the film?

Can't believe its taken you so long to see this film, becuase it really is great. I also have it on DVD.

Yep as D.brat said, the song is 'Tiny Dancer'. A great moment in the film when they all sing it. The tension was high at that point between 'Still Water' and it was just a awesome spontaneous way to break the ice.

My dad loves it even more.
Especially when young William is looking at the vinelys that his sister left to him.
Dad: "Ah yes! Led Zeppelin! Black Sabbath! Jimmy Hendrix!"

A good timewarp for him.
I appreciate the music of that era alot.

I too, couldn't believe that I let this one slip through the first time. I always planned on seeing at the films when it was out ages ago, but never got around to it.

That bus scene would have to be the feelgood part of the century lol

Now the footy is over;) , the missus and i watch it last night. Wasn't a bad film, Frances McDarmaid (sic) is fantastic as the mother, and the rest of the ensemble played their parts well.
Like the Legend of Bagger Vance, its nice to see a movie where there is no real villian of the piece, and the underlying themes of truth, and morality can be played out and developed without the director treating their audience like complete morons who have to have every plot line spelt out.

Also nice to see a couple of antipodes in the cast. Noah Taylor as the manager, and Anna Paquin, ans one of the Bandaids.

A little teaser for the gallery. Name the two Oscar winners, and the movies they won them for, who feature in the movie.

It look just like my older brothers record collection except for the Joni Mitchell. Remarked as much to my wife.

Anna Paquin won a Best Supporting Actress Oscar for The Piano

Frances McDormand won a Best Actress for Fargo (great film!)

Same here.

A damn good flick. :D

Jen and I need to hire it again real soon-- she says it didn't get her attention the first time through, but I have to try and convince her again to see it a second time.

Cheers,
William

Jen and I also need to get some popcorn, of the low-fat variety, when we go hire that flick.

Drink up. :p :p :p

Cheers,
William

Bloody awful movie. Bored the crap outta me. Hit the stop button on the VCR about half way through.

Hallaleuha! Not often I agree with an Essendon supporter, but this movie was awful. I somehow manged to watch the whole thing and keep all the bile in my stomach, which was some feat.
