Johnson, O'Brien, Maxwell
Lockyer, Wakelin, Shaw
Swan, Clarke, Shaw
Thomas, Brown, Medhurst
Fraser, Cloke, Didak
Bryan, Pendlebury, O'Bree

Burns, Wellingham, Wood, Davis

In: Wood, Pendlebury ... Out: Cox, Cook

Unlikely, but thats what BF is for. Here is my team to face Carlton this week. O'Brien to take Fev with Wakelin the secondary tall in the hole with Maxwell. Plenty of run through Johnson and Shaw.

Midfield is all class with Pendles, Swan and Clarke. Thomas and Shaw run and carry into the 50. Wellingham and Davis used as rotation run and carry players, with Sharrod also in and under rotating with O'Bree and Burns in the middle.

Forward line is where it has been changed up. Wood comes into the side to create a 3-way ruck rotation which will see tall Magpie timber all over the MCG. A Magpie ruck should be able to get back and fill the hole whenever the Blues are attacking, and Bryan can do that well, so can Wood. Whilst whenever the Pies are attacking, the height of Cloke, Fraser, Brown, Medhurst and you can throw in Bryan at times will be too much for the Carlton defence. Didak is placed in the forward pocket but will run around in the middle, but should rest deep in the 50 and aim at either creating some decent leads or crum at the feet of the heightened Magpie forward line.

I like the team in principle. I am keen to see how the three way ruck works and whether Fraser can really dominate the game. My only concern is that I wouldn't do it this week. Carlton beat us last time in the middle. If we don't match them there they will bury us...or more accurately Fev will. I think their backline is Shizen and I think apart from Fev their forward line is fairly ordinary too. But that doesn't matter if their midfield wins the battle. Therefore taking three ruckmen in may leave us exposed for another runner IMO

Fev gets most of their goals so why don't we put Brown on him? He has been our best tall backman this year and has played on keys forwards and done well. Harry is in great form but playing on small forwards so let him continue with that. If we need another tall forward bring one in don't rob out defense .

Brown will play on Fevola.

If our midfield gets on top we will win because that will give our backline to get back and double team Fevola.

IN - Reid and Pendlebury

OUT - Cox and Johnson (only because he isn't 100%)

If we have our forward line set up with Cloke and Reid playing on the 50 and leading up we will see Reid play a really good game and he will show us all his potenial. Can't wait!!!!!

We then should have Medhurst and Davis playing out of the goal square with the 50 to themselves. They will be unstoppable and the young Carlton defenders will not be able to handle the pressure.
