Further evidence last night that he belongs in the middle. The revelation this time - his field passes aren't bad!

You could see as he was lining to take his shot at goal that he didn't believe that he could kick... he knew that he didn't know what he doing. Yet when he belatedly went into the middle afterwards, he had a couple of excellent 40-50 metre passes that hit targets on the chest. The Hobbit is a born centreman.

His kicking is generally pretty poor - kicks a lot of floaters which makes it hard for the recepient to mark, espeically if they are under pressure. He actually spent a lot of time in the forward line yesterday - at times he was isolated at FF with Lockyer in the goalsquare.

One interesting thing I noted was just after the reserves finished, he came out with another guy in a Swans shirt (a fitness coach maybe) and he was practising goalkicking....except he was doing the Daicos pocket goal instead of his set shots.

Yeah, I know - but last he showed that he can do it. Not in front of goal, though.

That set shot at goal was a shocker. What was he doing skipping a few times before he kicked. Clearly needs to practice this.

It is something that is clearly weighing on his mind, so dreadful was that attempt yesterday. His reaction in the last two games when he has slotted goals through supports this - in both cases the degree of excitement at kicking a goal was out of proportion with the context or degree of difficulty of the goals he kicked.

Agree with all the previous about his woefull kicking for goal, He reminds me of an early Cresswell, also a shocking kick for goal early in his career, looks nothing like him obviously but has his style (in and under) and ability at clearances.

Cressa turned himself into a very accurate kick for goal :)

A midfielder, to be sure. Both he and Schneider, in fact.

That miss tore my heart out of, after such a wonderful piece of play too...

Schneider is not a midfielder. Bucky has quick hands and actually good at getting the ball out. Schneider hasn't shown anything to suggest he can be of value anywhere other than a FP.

Buchanan looked pretty funny pretending to cramp up in the dying seconds trying to buy some time ;)

But he's had a strange season so far- been called a 'weak dog', can't kick a goal to save himself, yet keeps getting the ball! Definitely a midfielder now.

As a forward surely those days are over. Ever since Davis got back, there is no real need for him up there. And Schnieder (if he ever gets his act together) should be a more skillfuller prospect.

As a midfielder, fighting it out with Fosdike and Spriggs for our "gets the footy, but poor disposal" slot. Although with J.Bolton coming back there may not be that slot there anymore.

Not in our best 22 if we had no injuries. And not in a side thats going to win a flag. So if a flag is to come our way in the next few years, we have to find someone good enough to force him out. Reminds me or Troy Cook. Similar reasons.

He has played his best footy in the midfield and as Charlie says perhaps
the centre is his go. One of his game features has been getting the
ball to Barry and MOL. Goal kicking will improve with some work and
confidence.
