Welcome Mr Anderson.

Don’t think I can live through him being called ‘Angry’ - after one of the least likeable people in Australia.

Good luck, shame about the name.

Recent Advertiser story thanks to Maggeepye from Extreme Black 'n' White.

Sturt’s Angus Anderson was on a mission to find his ”point of difference” in 2025.

And the strong-bodied midfielder certainly did so after capping off a tremendous campaign with the Jack Oatey Medal as best afield in the Hostplus SANFL League Grand Final.

Speaking on SANFL Radio, the 22-year-old revealed he was determined to add his now trademark line-breaking ability to his game after initially being seen as a hard-ball winner only.

It was this dynamic play which catapulted him toward winning the coveted individual trophy in this year’s title decider, as he racked up 24 disposals, nine marks, four clearances and a goal against the Bays.

Anderson isn’t satisfied just yet though, as he’s also got his sights set on eventually reaching elite level after coming from humble beginnings in the New South Wales coastal town of Sawtell.

AFL scouts will be taking note of his 190cm frame which was difficult to stop as he gained his first selection in The Advertiser SANFL Team of the Year.

But for now he will lap up the history of enjoying a premiership victory with the Double Blues as he joins fellow No.8s Paul Bagshaw and his coach, Marty Mattner, in earning a premiership medallion.
