I had to think i had the best hand there, if you had pocket 9s for the higher set, IMO you would have raised preflop, and if you had flopped the straight, well, I was going to get busted regardless.

Yeah, i think I sort of knew you had me, but I had so much in there that I had to go for it already. I have gone out in the first 10 hands at the cherry hill all but one time Ive played there. Doncaster I go a bit better, made 4 final tables last season. I tended to go really well at Daiseys and Mitcham but dont play there often.

Also, Ive been bounty the past 4 or 5 times Ive played aswell... I like it though, you can use it to your advantage

In those events, you can't play ultra conservative, when the prize allocation is so top heavy. There was no way you could fold that hand. As you said, I could have had a monster draw, or two pair, an overpair, top pair and a draw. Lots of things that would have left you as favourite with awesome odds to call.

I think the way to play the pub tournies is to play TAG at the start and try to build up some chips without taking unnecessary risks (playing bad starting hands, bluffing people who might not appreciate big raises), and then towards the latter half just take good calculated gambles and try to get a big chiplead and just be ruthess with people. Last week I didn't change gears quickly enough, and this week I just ran into a monster at the wrong time.

You took a bad beat to get crippled last week, as did your mate with kings. How did he go this week?

Yeah the mate with the Kings didnt come tongiht, he did last night and did fairly well, he is relateively inexperienced but seems to have a knack for playing the game.

I tend to adjust my strategy depending on who is at the table. Sometimes you sit down with a table of new people and you can just take control, last night our table was a very good one so thats the kind I would just try to sit back and coast, win the occasional pot and make the final table as a bounty

Yea, before you dealt yourself the ace to make you the bounty, I was ahead with a king. I was both happy and dissapointed that I didn't end up with it!

By the way, what's happening next week? Everything still going ahead even though its the easter extended weekend?

Yeah Id imagine it would still be on tuesday, dunno about the Doncaster on the monday though, I have to work anyways so cant go

Used to play APL heaps but maybe once a fortnight now on average.. last game I played I came to the final table with 80,000 and teh closest to me was on 9,000 but I had to go and meet a chick before Surfer's stupid 3am lockout so I got blinded out and still ended up coming 2nd.... haha
