Take this how you want, but I feel I ought to say this....
On Saturday night I got home after a big day at a mates house watching the G/F. I had had a skinfull and was lucky to be able to read let alone type.
Well I started a thread on your clubs performance in the big game and now would like to apologise for it.
I was a little over the top, infact well over the top ( in parts ) and in honesty have regretted it since waking the next morning.
Dont get me wrong here, your clubs performance was ordinary at least...but so was alot other peoples "performance", including myself.
I here you asking...well why apologise.
Well alot of reasons I suppose.
1/ I have alot of Port mates that would enjoy us ( the Crows ) losing like that and rib me to death....but what is going on here is going to far and alot of it just plain personal and nasty to childish extent. Thats not ribbing.
2/ I am so sick of the Port v Crow crap that goes on especially on here ( and the 'Tiser ) and have been for a long time and I feel I joined the throng. There are alot of Port posters and Crow posters who I enjoy reading their respective opinions, some are based on pride alone and thats cool. We are all Proud of our respective clubs...and BOTH rightly so !!
Ofcourse there are the morons who have IQ's lower than a snakes dick, but you can get over that by concentrating on the good debate than can be written.
3/ I guess what was the final nail that has drawn me to make an apology was what is going on over in the West at the moment. Here I am slagging off at Port and digging the "talons" in over the result of a grand final and making all the cheap shots I can, while today I saw a photo of a little boy distraught at losing his dad forever. I am a very proud father of 2 girls who love me to death..( 1 of which I take to Port games, as she is a power fan ). I have read alot of insults over Mainy's death and innuendo, which after seeing the photo I now feel as though it is time we ALL try to keep things in perspective.
We all love our footy and yes we have our natural enimies...but for crying out aloud, lets keep it real and in perspective. Something I didnt do Saturday night and I am sorry for.
Yours Truly,
John.
