Surely the article in the Herald Sun today in regards to Carlton selecting their 150 greatest players to celebrate their 150th birthday, is an elaborate April fools joke in that they included Bryce Gibbs and Matthew Kruezer in this list.

Who are they keeping off the list that you'd have in their place?

Ron Barrassi, he met the criteria didn't he. 5 years 50 games and a premiership coach, yet still couldn't get in front of Bryce Gibbs or Kruezer or even Brett Thornton.

Has to be an April fools joke surely.

I'd rather have Mark Porter than Kreuzer. He's been a genuine flop of a #1 pick.

Embarrassing list that epitomises the shit for brains culture that permeates the club. Judd aside, no one from the last decade deserves to be anywhere near our best ever list.
Murphy as well, even though his last few years have been underwhelming.

We're talking about historically the most successful club in the league. If a few good years in a meandering side get you on then that just shows that 150 is way too many.

Judd is the only one that deserves to rub shoulders with our best ever players.

Just do a top 50 and be done with it.

So the bloke was twice the player than these two, but because he only stayed two years, does not meet the criteria. So it's not actaully about how good you were, it's how long you stayed there.

Not much of a servant to the club if he only stuck around for a couple of years, which I think gets taken into account. To be honest Im not really sure why you'd care so much. Its a pretty weak troll if you ask me.

There's always going to be some fillers on a list this size. Its not like they ranked them. Just a bunch of names really.

Considering we've had about 1200 players since our inception this list represents about 12% of players how have ever donned our jumper. Much higher when you consider that most of the players wouldnt meet the criteria.

Simon Beaumont is on it.

More to the point it's a fairly pointless exercise that only invites embarrassing criticism.

No he didnt. 4 years on the list, 7 years as coach.
