Grand Final Rematch Headlines Season Opener

The Gold City Royals will unfurl their first Sweet FA premiership flag at home in round one against the team they beat in the season 30 Grand Final, the Sin City Swamprats. The ruck rover battle between All-SFA representatives, ant555 and Marlowe, looms as the one to watch while the Royals other All-SFA representatives, including Fred Medalist, The Filth Wizard, all return in the same positions they played in season 30. Mobbs and Deestroy Medalist, Nunez, shifts to a wing to make way for Swamprats' captain, philreich's, return to the followers line.

The Furies travel to Las Vegas to take on the Bears in the other match up this round between two season 30 finalists. This matchup also features five All-SFA representatives including All-SFA vice captain, MWPP. Seven players will make their Sweet FA debuts in this one with three sets of rookies lining up on one another. League legend and the brains behind the Bears' return to the league, Broken, returns for the Bears.

The Roys and Hawks ended season 30 in disappointing fashion, the Roys going out in straight sets while the Hawks managed just five wins for the season to finish 11th. The ruck battle between JackNah_8 and Hate shapes up as the pivotal match up with this one, JackNah_8 finishing 5th among all players for hitouts and disposals last season while Hate was named at ruck in Sweet FA's all time All-SFA team in season 30. Despite a disappointing season, the Hawks saw two players make the All-SFA team with captain, Agent93, joined by new co-captain, Chipmunk. Five players will make their Sweet FA debuts in this match while former Warriors captain, Wosh, returns to the league and will make her Roys debut.

The Demons finished outside the top three for the first time since season 25, winning six games and finishing 9th in season 30. They host Gumbies FFC who finished 5th on the back of a seven-game win streak before going down to the eventual premiers, Gold City Royals, in a preliminary final. All-SFA full back and captain, manangatang, moves to rover while All-SFA rover, Callums_Guns, shifts to a wing. 8-time All-SFA representative, pantskyle, joins the Demons from the Coney Island Warriors and will line up at ruck rover. The Gumbies earned one All-SFA representative in season 30 with full forward, Rodney Dangerfield, earning a nod in a forward pocket. He will line up at full forward again.

The Coney Island Warriors had the second-best offense in season 30 and saw two of their players, Tonga Bob and harry000, named as All-SFA representatives however the third-worst defense in the league resulted in six wins and a 10th-placed finish. The Bombers struggled to convert the fourth-best offense and fifth-best defense into wins, finishing with an 8-8 record, but kicked into gear at the right time, making it to a preliminary final where they fell to eventual runners up, Sin City Swamprats, by one point. All-SFA representatives, Antonio BlueVein and Kilroy, are joined by The Jesus, who dominated last season, finishing first in the league for disposals and fourth in hitouts. Significant changes have been made to both lineups with five players joining from other teams, five returning to the league and five making their Sweet FA debuts.

Finally, the Dragons host the Wonders with both teams looking to improve from their season 30 results. The Dragons have added Bonz (#1 in hitouts and #8 in disposals) alongside All-SFA representative and new Dragons captain, serial_thrilla. The Wonders claimed the season 30 wooden spoon despite full forward, Sab22, who is a notable omission in this match, finishing second in the Fred Medal. ClarkeM has handed off the captaincy to haydo and Cadsky, who line up at ruck rover and centre respectively.

Warriors' rookie DockerDen5215 impressed on debut

Wooden Spooners' Wonderful Start

The West Coast Wonders overcame a 39-point deficit in the second quarter to kick off season 31 with a 12-point win over Dragons FFC in a shootout at Ljp86’s Lair. The Dragons kicked seven goals in the first quarter before extending their lead in the second quarter on the back of five first-half goals to new spearhead, Bonz. It rained goals in the third term with both teams combining for 12 goals but a seven-goal final quarter saw the Wonders run over the top. 12 players kicked goals for the Wonders including five to full forward, dogs105, and three each to croweater 41 and Grand Uncle Horace. Bonz finished the day with six goals while Blaze Storm kicked four.

Metalcrusher kicked seven goals for the Bears and Elton Johns Wig kicked six for the Furies in an evenly fought contest at Stadium In The Sky as the Bears won by nine points. The Bears held the lead for most of the day but struggled to break free from the Furies, leading by no more than 20 points at any time during the match. The Bears’ midfield was dominant with Muddiemoose, Millky95, Matera92 and guero combining for 124 disposals and six goals. Ned_Flanders collected 35 touches while ChappyUK picked up 29 disposals and 11 tackles as the Furies’ best players.

fitzroybowiedog kicked three of his six goals for the day in a five-minute burst late in the third quarter to set up a 19-point win for the Roys over the Hawks at The BJO. The rest of the match evenly fought with the Hawks leading for much of the first half before the Roys controlled the back half of the game. Hate (15 disposals, 14 hitouts and two goals) and phenomenal V1 (three goals) were solid in their Hawks’ debuts.

DockerDen5215 impressed in his Sweet FA debut picking up 20 disposals and three goals from a half forward flank as the Warriors opened their account with a 24-point win over the Bombers at Van Cortlandt Park. The Bombers were in control for much of the game leading by at three goals at three separate times through the first three quarters. An early fourth-quarter goal to harry000 put the Warriors in front, where they stayed for the remainder of the game. RobR impressed in his Bombers’ debut with 23 disposals, 11 tackles and a goal.

Muddy conditions at The Golden Throne saw a low-scoring display in the Grand Final replay as the Swamprats avenged their defeat with a 13-point win over the reigning premiers. The Swamprats took control of the game in the second quarter on the back of early goals to debutante, FishingRick04, and GremioPower, and late goals to new Swamprats, Hatchy1992, and All-SFA ruck rover, ant555. Quadzilla had a huge game for the Swamprats, keeping Fred Medalist, The Filth Wizard, goalless.

Four goals each to Proper Gander and Thetrader15 weren’t enough as the Gumbies accounted for the Demons by five points as the Snow Dome. After a tight first quarter the Gumbies steadily built a four-goal lead through the second and third quarters. The Demons kicked three goals in five minutes to start the fourth quarter before finally taking the lead mid-way through the quarter but the Gumbies retook the lead with beez ’s third goal for the afternoon. Rodney Dangerfield kicked four goals for the Gumbies.

Metalcrusher leads the Fred Medal tally with seven goals

Friends Turn Foes in Round Two Match Ups

Match of the round this week sees the Las Vegas Bears, fresh off a 9-point win against the Fighting Furies, host the Coney Island Warriors, who beat the Baghdad Bombers by 24 points last week, in the only match up this week to feature two round 1 winners. Bears’ full forward, Metalcrusher, who kicked seven goals last week, will be marked by NaturalDisaster, who gave up only two goals last week at full back for the Warriors. Former Bears’ captain, Test Tickle, faces off against his old side for the first time while indoistriku makes his debut.

Over at the Snow Dome, the Mount Buller Demons look to bounce back from a narrow loss to Gumbies FFC as they host Roys FFC in the second of two top-8 clashes this weekend. The Roys will be hoping for another bag to full forward fitzroybowiedog while Demons’ All-SFA representative, Callums_Guns, and gun recruit, pantskyle, will be looking to make up for poor performances last week. Zevon makes his Sweet FA debut but could be in for a tough day as his opponent, Quivorir, kept NSWCROW to two touches last week.

The Sin City Swamprats travel to Ljp86’s Lair full of confidence after beating the Gold City Royals by 13 points last week. Their hosts, Dragons FFC, narrowly went down in a shootout with season 30 wooden spooners, West Coast Wonders. Dual Mobbs Medallist, Nunez, lines up for his 100th match while Swamprats’ full forward, Hatchy1992, faces his old side for the first time. The contest between Quadzilla and Bonz is the one to watch in this one. Quadzilla held Fred Medalist, The Filth Wizard, goalless last week while Bonz kicked six goals.

The Fighting Furies host the East Side Hawks at rfctigerarmy’s Hippodrome this Sunday in the only clash between two round 1 losers. The Furies went down to the Bears in a shootout in Las Vegas while the Hawks lost to the Roys by 19 points. The ruck battle sees All Time All-SFA ruckman, Hate, line up for the first time against his old side directly opposite his former captain and S30 All-SFA ruckman, Tigerturbulance. Hawks’ full forward, Itsmyshow, will be looking to hit the scoreboard hard after kicking only one goal last week.

The West Coast Wonders host the Baghdad Bombers at The Coliseum in a match that will see Wonders co-captain Cadsky face off against his old side for the first time. The Wonders were impressive last week kicking 20 goals in a two-goal win over the Dragons behind five goals to dogs105 and three each to Grand Uncle Horace and croweater 41. The Bombers had some excellent performers last week and found multiple avenues to goal but will be looking for a bigger output from their full forward, miggs. Wonders’ veteran, SSwans2011, will line up for game number 250.

Finally, the reigning premiers will look to pull themselves up from the bottom of the ladder as they travel to the House of Gumby to take on Gumbies FFC. The Filth Wizard, will be looking for a big outing against Gumbies’ rookie Grimesy87 after kicking just two behinds last week. Gadzorks makes his Sweet FA debut but will have his hands full with his opponent, StFly, picking up 27 disposals last week. Gumbies’ half-forward-flanker, beez, makes his 350th Sweet FA appearance.

Warriors' Late Eight Stuns Bears

The Coney Island Warriors are the only undefeated team after two rounds as they kicked eight fourth-quarter goals to overrun the Las Vegas Bears to win by six points at Stadium In The Sky . Both teams peppered the scoreboard in the first quarter, kicking 11 goals between them, and the Warriors taking a seven-point lead into quarter time. The Bears kicked four goals in the second quarter for a six-point lead at half time, and backed up with six goals in the third quarter for a 24 point lead at three-quarter time. The Warriors chipped away at the deficit before finally taking the lead midway through the fourth, where they stayed for the remainder of the afternoon. kdavva74 and Tonga Bob collected 66 disposals and 21 marks between them for the Warriors. Warriors’ rookie, DockerDen5215, added four goals to his three from last week while Bears’ rookie, bl4ke, also kicked four goals.

FishingRick04 backed up an impressive debut with 31 disposals, nine marks and three goals but it wasn’t good enough to get the Sin City Swamprats over the line as they went down to Dragons FFC by ten points at Ljp86’s Lair. The game ebbed and flowed as the Dragons edged out to narrow leads in each quarter only for the Swamprats to draw level in each of the first two quarters and even took a one-point lead late in the third quarter before a steadying goal to Bonz gave the Dragons a five-point lead heading into the final change. Another Dragons lead was closed to four points late in the game before Blaze Storm’s fourth goal of the afternoon sealed the match. Bradesmaen was strong for the Dragons as he racked up 21 touches and a goal.

The Gold City Royals bounced back from a poor showing last week to comprehensively beat Gumbies FFC by 68 points at the House of Gumby. The The Filth Wizard kicked three of his six goals for the day in the first half to propel the Royals to a 52-point lead at half time. The Gumbies narrowed the gap to 36 points midway through the third quarter before the Royals kicked seven of the last eight goals for the match. Paddles was strong on a half forward flank picking up 15 disposals, six marks and kicked three goals.

A seven-goal second quarter set up a 41-point win for the Mount Buller Demons over Roys FFC at the Snow Dome. Proper Gander kicked two of her five goals for the day in the first quarter to set up a two-goal lead at quarter time before the Demons put the foot down in the second term. The Roys closed the gap to 25 points early in the third quarter but another two Proper Gander goals helped stretch the lead back out to 48 points before the Roys closed the gap again to the final margin. Tarkyn_24 picked up 22 disposals, 12 hitouts, five tackles and two goals while Callums_Guns collected 23 disposals, five tackles and two goals. Supersuns was best afield for the Roys with 21 disposals and nine tackles.

The Fighting Furies pushed the East Side Hawks for much of the day before a late Hawks burst sealed a 29-point win at rfctigerarmy’s Hippodrome. The Furies built a 23-point lead in the first quarter behind two goals to Carson Dial that was whittled away and rebuilt again as an 18-point lead in the second quarter. Both teams had their opportunity to kick away in the third quarter as the Hawks kicked 6.7 to the Furies’ 4.6 with the Hawks ultimately going into the final change with a two-point lead. The lead changed early in the fourth quarter but stayed within one goal before the Hawks kicked five goals in the final ten minutes of the match to run away as winners. por_please_ya had a day out with 37 disposals, nine marks and two goals.

A tight game through three quarters blew out in the fourth as Baghdad Bombers accounted for the West Coast Wonders by 34 points at The Coliseum. Both teams kicked two goals each in the first quarter and seven goals each through the first three quarters with neither side able to get more than two goals in front. A Tony Lynn 15 goal in the first minute of the final term put the Bombers in front for good and it was all one way traffic from there with seven different Bombers’ players scoring goals for the quarter. Pugsley was best on ground with 24 disposals, six tackles and two goals.

Ljp86 ahead of his 500th Sweet FA match

Dragons Legend To Play 500th Match

Round three is filled with milestones, none more significant than Dragons’ stalwart, Ljp86, who will become the first player in Sweet FA history to play 500 games when he runs out for Dragons FFC against Roys FFC at Ljp86’s Lair. Incredibly, Ljp86 has played his entire career for the Dragons, debuting in season 5, and his milestone has overshadowed another significant milestone at the Dragons this week as teammate HawkAussie runs out for his 250th Sweet FA appearance. These two teams have been on the right side of the umpires through the first two games, entering this clash ranked #1 and #2 for net free kicks. Full forwards Bonz (DRA) and fitzroybowiedog (ROY) are the players to watch, ranking #2 and #5 in goals kicked, respectively.

Match of the Round of the round this week sees the Gold City Royals host Baghdad Bombers at The Golden Throne with both teams looking to build on round two wins, the Royals thumping the Gumbies by 68 points and the Bombers comfortably beating the Wonders by 34 points. This is the second of two match ups this round between two top-8 sides and both sides will be looking for a lift from their ruckmen as they enter this match as the two lowest ranked sides for hitouts. The key match up in this one sees iDon, who has kicked five goals in two games from a forward pocket to lead the Bombers’ goalkicking tally, marked by spookism, who has conceded just one goal from his two games.

sante will run out for his 300th Sweet FA game as his Mount Buller Demons hit the road to take on the Las Vegas Bears at Stadium In The Sky in one of two games this week to feature two top-8 sides. The Bears and Demons enter this match as the #1 and #2 ranked tackling teams and also have the league’s top two goalkickers, Metalcrusher for the Bears and Proper Gander for the Demons. The Fighting Furies have had some superb performances through the first two games as Mister M leads the league in tackles, Elton Johns Wig ranks #2 for goals from an incredible 82% accuracy and Ned_Flanders and ChappyUK are ranked #3 and #5 in Dream Team points but that hasn’t translated to wins, the only team yet to register a victory so far in season 31. At the other end of the ladder, the Coney Island Warriors, Sweet FA’s only undefeated team through the first two rounds, travel to The Coliseum to take on the West Coast Wonders, who are looking to break back into the top eight. On paper, these teams match up fairly evenly, ranking similarly across most statistical categories however the Warriors are ranked much higher for net free kicks, suggesting a little more hunger for and discipline around the ball. Wonders’ skipper, Cadsky, has had a strong start to season 31 as has his opponent in the middle of the ground, kdavva74.

Gumbies FFC and the East Side Hawks rank as the two worst teams for goalkicking accuracy entering this clash at the House of Gumby. The Gumbies were soundly beaten by the Royals by 68 points last week while the Hawks will look to build on their win over the Furies. Harry's Hot Stuff Keeps Warriors Undefeated

Six goals to harry000 propelled the Coney Island Warriors to a 15-point win over the West Coast Wonders at The Coliseum to remain the only undefeated team after three rounds. The Warriors jumped out of the blocks with a four-goal first term but the Wonders pegged the lead back over the next two quarters before edging in front midway through the fourth quarter. That would be the final time the Wonders would trouble the scorers as harry000 put the Warriors back in front for the day four minutes later.

It wasn’t all bad news for the Wonders though as they moved back into the top 8 despite losing courtesy of the Las Vegas Bears, who went down to the Mount Buller Demons at Stadium In The Sky by 65 points. The Bears established a three-goal lead in the first quarter but the Demons edged in front midway through the second quarter to lead at half time by 8 points. It was all downhill from there as Proper Gander kicked four of her seven goals for the afternoon in the third quarter as the Demons piled on eight goals while holding the Bears scoreless. The Demons then added six goals to the Bears’ five in the final quarter to knock the Bears out of the top 8. pantskyle picked up 30 disposals, eight tackles and a goal while Proper Gander moves to the top of the Fred Medal tally with 16 goals to her name.

The Fighting Furies kicked ten goals in the fourth quarter but fell agonisingly short as they went down to the Sin City Swamprats by seven points at rfctigerarmy’s Hippodrome. After a relatively even first quarter, the Swamprats kicked four goals to one in the second term to open up a 35-point half time lead. The Swamprats stretched the lead to 55 points midway through the third quarter before the Furies piled on 12 goals to four over the next half an hour to close the gap to seven points with less than three minutes to play before GremioPower kicked his third goal of the afternoon to steady the Swamprats and seal the win. GremioPower, ant555 and GotTheGoodes combined for 70 disposals, 15 marks, 11 tackles and six goals while Hatchy1992 kicked six goals of his own. The Furies’s loss keeps them at the bottom of the ladder as the only team without a win in season 31.

Dragons FFC enter the top four after beating Roys FFC by 23 points at Ljp86’s Lair in Ljp86 ’s 500th Sweet FA match. After a fairly even first quarter, the Dragons kicked five goals to none in the second quarter to stretch the lead to 32 points at half time. The game ebbed and flowed from there with the gap closing and opening by of goals a couple of times. Bonz kicked six goals for the Dragons while JackNah_8 had a day out for the Roys picking up 28 disposals and 11 hitouts.

The East Side Hawks are in the top four after defeating Gumbies FFC by 12 points at the House of Gumby. The Hawks registered the first ten scores of the match as they established a 30-point lead midway through the first term before three Rodney Dangerfield goals helped to close the gap to four points in the second quarter. A five goal to one third quarter stretched the Hawks’ lead back out to 38 points at three-quarter time. The Hawks failed to score in the fourth quarter however the Gumbies were unable to overcome the deficit. TY24 was best on ground for the Hawks as he collected 23 touches, six marks and two goals.

Match of the round saw the Baghdad Bombers defeat the Gold City Royals by six points at The Golden Throne in a tussle where neither team was able to break away from the other. The biggest lead through the first three quarters for either side was 13 points but two goals in the first two minutes of the fourth quarter helped the Bombers register the biggest lead of the day at 21 points. The Royals chipped away at this lead, taking a one-point lead with three minutes to play on the back of nahnah ’s second goal for the afternoon before a behind then a goal to @Kegs still on legs sealed the Bombers’ win. RobR was best afield with 28 disposals for the Bombers.

Early Chance To Consolidate For Demons, Dragons

This week’s match of the round sees two top four teams pitted against each other as the Mount Buller Demons host Dragons FFC at the Snow Dome. Both teams enter this one with consecutive wins under their belts although the Demons have scored 101 more points than they’ve conceded through three games compared to the Dragons’ 21 points. The full forwards are the players to watch in this one as Proper Gander and Bonz rank #1 and #2 in the Fred Medal tally. Blaze Storm plays his 150th Sweet FA match while teammate, Knifey Spoony, plays his 150th for the Dragons.

Roys FFC host the Gold City Royals at The BJO with both teams coming off round two losses, the Roys to the Dragons by 23 points and the Royals to the Baghdad Bombers by six points. Despite each team having a win to their name, these two teams have started season 31 poorly, ranking #11 and #12 for points scored, disposals and tackles.

The Bombers will be looking for their third straight win as they play host to Gumbies FFC, who have lost their last two games by a combined 80 points. Rodney Dangerfield and KohPhi have been two of the better performers for their sides so far this season and will line up on one another in front of the Gumbies’ goal. On a positive note for the Gumbies, ruckman, Barrybran, ranks #3 in the league for hitouts.

The East Side Hawks will also be looking for their third win in a row as they take on fellow top 8 side, the West Coast Wonders, who are looking to bounce back after consecutive losses, at The Eyrie. Wonders ruckman, ArdentEagle, has been dominant early on, ranking #2 for hitouts while por_please_ya has lead the way for the Hawks, ranking #2 in the league for disposals and Dream Team points. 11kgm has made the most of limited opportunities so far this season kicking four goals from three games in a forward pocket and he will be matched up against Kangaroos4eva, who has been a ball magnet running out of the Wonders’ defense.

The undefeated Coney Island Warriors will host the winless Fighting Furies at Van Cortlandt Park in a battle between first versus last. The Furies have had some impressive performers early on with ruckman, Tigerturbulance, ranking #1 for hitouts while Mister M ranks #2 for tackles and Ned_Flanders ranks #3 for marks. The respective full forwards, harry000 and Elton Johns Wig, rank #4 for goals with 12 goals apiece. harry000 could be in for a tough day at the office as his opponent, Sterge, has been one of the Furies’ best performers early in the season.

The final match of round four sees the Las Vegas Bears travel downstairs to Underground Stadium to take on the Sin City Swamprats in the first of two Los Carraras derbies this season. The Swamprats bounced back last week registering a win against the Furies while the Bears enter this match with back-to-back losses. The battle between GremioPower and kane249 on the Swamprats’ half forward line is the one to watch with both players attracting plenty of the qooty in the first three rounds. Millky95 looms as an early Mobbs Medal favourite, ranking #1 in the league for disposals, tackles and Dream Team points.

A six-goal third quarter set up a 25-point win for Roys FFC over the Gold City Royals at The BJO. Inaccuracy by the Roys saw them enter quarter time with a five-point lead before the Royals struggled to kick straight in the second quarter, kicking 3.7 to see scores level at half time. fitzroybowiedog banged home four of his eight goals for the day in the premiership quarter to stretch the lead to 26 points at three-quarter time, and stretched the advantage to 38 points before the Royals stabilised. The Filth Wizard kicked six goals at the other end of the ground.

A late burst sealed a third straight win and an entry into the top four for the Baghdad Bombers as they accounted for Gumbies FFC by 19 points at Abdu Prison. The Gumbies jumped out to a 23-point lead at quarter time on the back of six first-quarter goals. The Bombers found their kicking boots in the second quarter but struggled for accuracy, kicking 5.9 and taking the lead just before half time. The Gumbies threatened to kick away again behind three third-quarter goals to Rodney Dangerfield but the Bombers kept them in check, drawing level midway through the fourth quarter before three late goals sealed the victory. Pugsley had a massive day in the middle collecting 18 tackles along with 22 disposals.

A ten-goal burst in the second quarter set up a 62-point win for the West Coast Wonders over the East Side Hawks at The Eyrie. The Hawks had their chances early establishing a 21-point lead but the Wonders claimed the lead early in the second quarter, stretching it to 31 points at half time with only one missed shot at goal through the first two quarters. Five Wonders’ goals in the third quarter was followed by 6.9 in the fourth to add insult to injury. Wonders’ rookie, Off Tap, had a huge game off the pine registering 30 disposals and six marks while former skipper, Sab22, added 20 touches, seven tackles and four goals.

harry000 kicked six goals for the second week in a row to keep his Coney Island Warriors remain undefeated as they accounted for the winless Fighting Furies by 11 points at Van Cortlandt Park. The Warriors booted six goals in the first quarter before a second-quarter shootout saw both teams combine for 12 goals and five lead changes. The final two quarters were reasonably even with the Furies briefly holding leads late in the third term and early in the fourth before kdavva74 kicked the Warriors in front each time. Test Tickle and Mister M had big days for their respective teams but let themselves down in front of goal, combining for 10 behinds between them. Wacky Tiger also added six behinds from six kicks.

A ten-goal first quarter set up an impressive 67-point win for the Las Vegas Bears over the Sin City Swamprats at Underground Stadium. The Bears established a 53-point at quarter time and the closest the Swamprats could get after that was 31 points late in the second quarter. The Bears kicked ten goals to two from there, including four of Metalcrusher ’s eight goals for the day, to stretch the lead to 80 points before three late goals to ant555 closed the gap to the final margin. The Bears had contributors all over the park but RookiePick ’s five goals from a forward pocket and Art Vandelay_ at full back holding Hatchy1992 to one goal were particularly impressive.

Six goals to rookie, Heardy_101, helped the Mount Buller Demons hold off Dragons FFC to secure a nine-point win at the Snow Dome and hold onto second position on the Sweet FA ladder. The Dragons applied plenty of forward pressure early kicking seven goals and forcing the Demons to resort to conceding rushed behinds to stem the bleeding. The Demons drew level at half time behind five second-quarter goals before a tight second half saw neither team go ahead by more than 16 points for the remainder of the match. Dero was important for the Demons as he collected 23 disposals, eight marks and three goals from a half forward flank.

Warriors, Demons, Bombers Look To Continue Streaks

The Baghdad Bombers are looking for their fourth win in a row as they travel to The BJO to take on Roys FFC in this week’s match of the round. This match is one of two between two top-8 teams as the Roys moved back into the top 8 last week after accounting for the Gold City Royals by 25 points. The Bombers will look to capitalise on their tackling advantage, currently ranked #1 in this category while the Roys are ranked last. Bombers’ rover, Pugsley, ranks #2 in the league for tackles thanks to a huge 18-tackle game last week. @fitzroybowiedog’s eight goals last week propelled him to second in the Fred Medal tally. He’ll be marked this week by LicoriceAllsorts who has been one of the Bombers’ better players this season despite coming off the bench.

The East Side Hawks will be looking to bounce back from a 62-point hiding at the hands of the West Coast Wonders this week as they host the Gold City Royals, who are looking to avoid a hat-trick of losses, at The Eyrie. These teams have struggled this season ranking in the bottom four for each of tackles, marks and free kicks. Itsmyshow has kicked four goals in each of the past two weeks but has been moved to the forward pocket this week where he’ll be marked by one of the Royals’ better performers this season, All-SFA back pocket, Noobz0r. Hawks’ stalwart, Biggie, lines up for his 350th Sweet FA match.

Sweet FA’s only undefeated team, the Coney Island Warriors, host Gumbies FFC, who enter this match on the back of three straight losses, at Van Cortlandt Park. The Warriors rank #4 in both points scored and points conceded but the combination of these sees them ranked #2 in net points scored. At the other end, the Gumbies have the league’s worst offense and point differential. Individually, The Half Back and GWS Goose loom as early Mobbs Medal contenders, ranking #1 and #4 in tackles respectively. The matchup to watch in this one sees Tonga Bob line up against StFly on the wing, both of whom have been tremendous defensively.

The Sin City Swamprats suffered a heavy defeat last week going down to the Las Vegas Bears by 67 points. They’ll play host to the Wonders who enter this match looking to build on a 62-point win over the Hawks last week. These two teams have struggled to get the qooty so far this season, ranking #11 and #9 respectively.
