Conspiracy Theory Artificial Sweeteners

Explanation. I've always like Kirks Lemon Squash. One of the lower full sugar drinks on the market and a far superior taste to Solo IMO. Recently noticed the full sugar product had artificial sweeteners added to it despite the sugar content (7.6g per 100ml) remaining unchanged. I can understand adding artificial sweeteners if you then lower the sugar content but they haven't done this. Adding two unnecessary chemicals for no justifiable reason doesn't make any sense to me.

955 - Sucralose - Studies have shown potential impacts on gut microbiome and brain signals.

950 - Acesulfame potassium (ace K) - A 2022 population study of 102,856 adults in France, researchers found an association between the sweeteners ace K and aspartame and an increased overall cancer risk. A 2024 review suggested a link between acesulfame potassium consumption and higher central precocious puberty risk in females. Possibly oestrogenic?
