Ashley Cole - Filth

Hello, show me where it was referring to Keane's botched tackle on Haaland? In soccer there is every chance that you will get smashed in a tackle, so as far as i am concerned Keane in particular should just crunch a few players now and again.

Rubbish.

I love watching a good, solid Keane tackle, but his effort on Haaland was bloody minded, vindictive, and plain stupid. IMHO, Keane was very lucky to avoid litigation....only Haaland's own-goal with his online diary let Keane off the hook.

Poor old Dave Busst... there's a still shot of the exact moment he literally came a cropper on that fateful day against United on that ugly footballers site. Sickening.

I remember the look on Peter Schmeichel's face when he went over to check on David Buust (was it Buust or Busst?). Schmeichel has a pale complexion (red nose notwithstanding) at the best of times, but all colour drained out of his face when he saw the extent of the damange on Buust's leg. Apparantly he could see right to the bone.

And on Dugarry he plays for Birmingham he's just trying to model his on field behaviour on the supporters daily lives. THUGGISH!

Funny you say that given most of the recent serious Football related disturbances in Brummagem have been instigated by the SH*T from Witton Sheds ...

That said, Dugarry was f*cking awful on the weekend.

So why are you concerned about Cole apologising to Thatcher, and tell me what was the tackle that Keane has been on the receving end for.

Hypocrite.

Keane will always be on everyone's hitlist to crunch. If he ever gets smashed, watch the opposition crowd cheer. Why not crunch a few players yourself? Cole is nowhere as good a player as Keane.

It took you two days to come up with that.

First you complained because Cole didn't apoligise to Thatcher.

Then you say that Keane shouldn't apologise for committing assault as he has been on the receiving end (a common, and erroneous excuse for Keane by the bandwagon element of United is that Alfie did him first, so he had it coming).

Then you are unable to come up with another example of Keane being on the receiving end.

Then you say that Keane should "crunch" players because he is on other players hitlist (I wonder why that would be then).

So tell me myee, why do you feel that Cole should apologise to Thatcher for a tackle that you wouldn't expect your own player to apologise for.

Hypocrite and (I suspect) a liar.

As you are Sperrzz supporter, you're obviously biased. YES the tackle was bad, YES it warranted sending off and YES it warranted the three match ban Ashley was given.

Ashley HAS apologised for it, just not directly to Ben 'son of Maggie' Thatcher. He's apologised for it, get over it, it's not the worse thing to happen in Football by a long shot.

As far as the speed he left the field? Meh. "At what speed do you have to walk off the pitch when you're sent off? In which rule is that written?" - Arsène Wenger..

And where's your hands up in angst over the crap that Gerrad does every single week, eh? It's not much different from what Ashley did, but you've snubbed it off like it's nothing when someone has brought it up.

Be unbiased and address that crap, too.

Goals from 50 Out

Either you're a Jason Cundy supporter (small prize to anyone who gets that) or you're an Australian Arsenal bandwagon jumper with little kjnowledge of the game.

You're still not listening. You cannot defend that tackle. The fact that I am a Spurs supporter is irrelevant - I condemn Cole's tackle because it was a disgrace. Is this bloke a Spurs fan too?

Silly Arsenal

Well they kept a lid on it for a few games but it always comes out doesn't it?

Let's face it, Arsenal's players were absolutely right to get upset.

Where in the rules does it say explicitly that martial arts are not allowed on the field of play.

Ashley Cole's challenge wasn't only two-footed, it was half-witted and hot-headed.

He deserved to go. He should have walked like a man, not cried like a baby.

And Wenger must have seen the whole damn thing, so he might as well front up and read the riot act at him.

Football managers are getting more and more like politicians these days.

Whether it's Sven or Fergie or Wenger, there never seems to be a straight answer anywhere.

That's why we like Gordon Strachan so much.

I don't support Gerrard's tackles either. I did forget about Keane's tackle - that should certainly be in the list (although I didn't see it live).

Dipper - football in 70s et al is an interesting point (though you'll have noticed the Johnny Giles inclusion). The rules were different in those days and most of the bad tackles were one of the following:
a) tackles from behind (now outlawed, but common in those days), which could be incredibly dangerous but not, in my view, as disgraceful as Cole, Keane et al
b) the sliding tackle, which looks terrible when you mistime it, but Ron Harris, Cyril Knowles, Norman Hunter and an army of full backs made it their way.

IMO, NOT ONE of those players would have done anything as offensive and cowardly as Cole did in their careers. Hard men, but fair, in the context of the rules and practice of the game at the time they played it.

Thatcher I never liked, even when he was at Spurs, but, with respect, that's irrelevant too.

Mate I have to disagree, I think we've all probably been guilty of looking up to these types as real men & playing it tough & taking it back without complaining but they were animals, especially 'Chopper' Harris, all he wanted to do was knobble people, he didn't even look at the ball, I'm sure he ended a few careers in his time, didn't Bestie even end up smacking him once.

The more I end up reading the old stories & people's biographies of the time the more I realise that there was bugger all compassion in those days, if it's not cowardly to go through the back of someone's knee with no attempt to play the ball then it's not cowardly to launch yourself two footed at someone's shin, the consequences (& the intent) are just as bad.

As for Ashley Cole, yeah it was a bad challenge but it's not as if he's made too many like that in his time, I reckon this is one fo the first, most of the hoohah is because people don't like him for all his theatricals.

Anyway you left Peter Storey off your list of 70s hardmen, get him on there where he deserves to be.:D

Peter Storey!

He was a midfield player though, so he didn't really have much of the tackle from behind or much of a slider - from memory he also didn't have the pace to actually get to a contest, but would just kick anyone who was standing near him.

I think he became a London cabbie and was then jailed for armed robbery? Can anyone remember?

Speaking of shocking tackles, I don't know if you will get a replay of this, but the tackle that broke Colin Healey's leg in the Cov v Sunderland match last night was appalling.

Dave Buszt (??) all over

Moomba

who made the 'tackle'?

Yeah I think he might also have got arrested in the late 70s/early 80s for running a brothel in flat in Leytonstone, just down the road from me actually, shame it's not still there I could have gone down to have a chat with him about the 71 double side whilst having a nice massage.

I think he got arrested for importing pornography as well.

And then there was the time he got done for forging pound coins.

They obviously didn't pay him enough.

Yeah, I've still got a mag with a big photo of the Busst one. Still hard to believe that a guy can literally snap in half his lower leg... which paper was this recent one in?

I remember that too. When most players go down the opponent or whatever might give them a pat on the head or something, but not this time. The Great Dane went beserk trying to get the physio's etc onto the field as fast as possible - and no wonder.

I know hes not playing, but what is Busst up to these days?

I saw it in the Mirror, but the link on the last page is to the Sun.
