There are times when I question whether my eyes are in focus, but on Friday during the first half the commentators reckoned that Clive was giving Freo nothing. It is hard watching on the TV but from what I saw, Clive was giving it a go and trying to create something.

Do I need to book in for my eyes to be checked?.

I think his performance was patchy.

One of his goals came when he was the 5th man waiting at the back of a pack. He put on some reasonably decent leads at some stages, sometimes he seemed to refuse to chase hard, his man often seemed to be one of the free men around the 50 picking up the relieving kick.

He should have got a free kick in the square, should have kicked that set shot at goal, could have ended up with 4 goals. Looking at it broadly thats all we can ask from him.

He needs to lift his defensive pressure though for 100% of the game not just when he feels like it. I guess if he did he would lack the blistering pace that let him snap his goal. Who knows, but I think thats generally what the media is talking about, effort when he doesnt have the ball not when he finally gets it.

Clive is killing time until Murphy and Campbell develop and until we can get a decent midfield so Pav can be a full time forward.

Clive picks and chooses when to put on defensive pressure and is good at it when he wants to. He is diabolically bad when he doesn't. BOG on Friday night (McPhee) was his opponent. At times it meant the bombers had another loose man in defence.

Clive will always live on but we are a better team now. He'll still be good for a couple of goals a game though and at least he doesn't get pushed around.

he's been on the way out for a couple of years in my opinion. just a big waste of space. When he goes down to the WAFL he still doesnt get alot of the footy. more then happy for him to play though - especially against the bombers!!!!

He's not bringing us much. He obviously has no role in our future so I'd rather his place in the side be given to a kid.

Fair enough.

I thought he was gone after his couple of games early in the season and was amazed to see him brought into the team to replace 211. Unfortunately his time is past and we should play the kids.

Anyway just thought on Friday he at least had a dip at times, more than I can say for ...
