The AFL law and reports for "Rough Play" seems to be a catchall get clause in case they wish to report you but can't find the appropraite law anywhere else. Our game is uniue because it is a ROUGH game... a game for men... with limited protection... knowing they can be hurt (even without the ball)... so what is ROUGH PLAY????

There is NO clear line for "Rough Play", is it:

- is it tackling a player into the ground too ROUGH (even after the ball has spilt free without the tackles knowledge)?
- is it steaming out from FF to take a mark on the lead but cannoning into a player coming across your line a few steps after you took the mark to send them crashing to the ground?
- is it sticking your boot in the air with the studs exposed as you try to fend off a player coming back the take your space in a marking competition?
- is it delivering a hip and shoulder into an unsuspecting opponent without the ball in 5m of the contest?

To me the game is going backwards at a fast rate and if it continues I will find other sports to watch and give my money to.

Are the constant rule changes and 'cleaning up' the game ruining our originally wonderful unique game?

AD and AA will say that crowd figures are up so the game must be better .... I'd suggest they would be even larger if they fixed:

a) The umpiring
b) Tribunal

Crowds are up because marketing and exposure is up.

I just hate that they come out with the jargon "it's good for the game". Wrong we are the mugs who watch the game, without us there is no AFL don't tell us whats good for the game we will tell you.
