I recently upgraded to the latest version of Azureus, after not having updated for probably a year. I had no problems until I upgraded. Now, every time a torrent finishes, or even when I try to delete a torrent, an error comes up, the program freezes, and I have to close it through task manager and restart it.

The error is along the lines of "an unhandled Error occurred in the GUI. Consecutive faults may occur - NullPointerException"

I also had the same problem once and it said something about the port...

Anyone any ideas how to fix it? Or have this problem too? It's getting really bloody annoying. And please no-one reply and tell me to get a different client. I like Azureus.

I downloaded the new version of Azureus on a friends computer and found it more complicated/over the top for just a torrent downloader(its trying to expand when the inevitable ban comes)

So i downloaded utorrent instead. I found Utorrent a lot slower - and a bit chunky. I dunno hard to explain considering i only need it for one simple function - downloads. Most likely it was just the torrents i tried to download. But i still think i'll stay an Azureus man :)

Good to see you all took my advice suggesting uTorrent there...

Guess I'll just downgrade. Not going to use uTorrent on principle now. ;)

Have you tried reinstalling Azureus?? Also what version of Java have you got installed??

Utorrent chunky?? Your the first person I've heard say that. Most people move away from Azureus to UTorrent cause it's NOT chunky.

Just the updating of trackers and stuff i dunno. I flirted with Utorrent and it just didn't work for me. I'm sure they are almost exactly same though. There really isn't that much of a difference to discuss.

Uninstall and reinstall worked. This time I got it from the website rather than the update option in the old Azureus, something must have gone wrong there.

The more people that tell me to use uTorrent, the less I want to use it. If it's not going to go any faster, and I'm not torrenting 24/7 either, why should I use it?

I haven't tried it for a while, but isn't Azureus Java-based? Makes it waaay slower.

Seriously, uTorrent loads in like negative time, and is very simple to use.
