Collingwood should issue a edict that no player is ever to talk to an umpire on the field. there is no reason to. Remonstrating never changes an umpire's mind an no good can come from it, as we saw last night. the players should not say a word to them, unless it's through the captain.

you cant have that mate, the players will always want to know why.

why dont the umpires get a back bone and accept the critism from the players.
I mean they are the ones who have control of everything so at least take into account what the players are saying.

how frusturating would it be if you couldnt ask anyone what your doing wrong to stop these free kicks?

I agree. Give them the silent treatment and show them the disrespect they deserve. The world does not revolve around them.

The umpire will always tell you why even if you don't ask him. Its in his their nature.

That would mean that they would have to accept some responsibility in making mistakes, and according to them they never make mistakes.

Let the football department take care of that. They should schedule of weekly meeting with Jeff Geishen on the Monday morning and go through the weekends game and have him explain the decisions. The only way you can pressure the umpiring department is if you formally get on their case.

That's why I was p!ssed off that Collingwood didn't complain after the first round performance against Adelaide. No complaint means nothing is wrong so the status quo ramains and they can still do as they please.

Agree 100%, we are the worst offenders at it, always back chatting and giving away 50's

players like Cloke, Medhurst, Shaw no disrespect to them, but they si mply have to learn to shut up.

Last night O'Bree was giving the umpire a spray and was about to give away a 50, one Collingwood fan stands up and shouts ' Shut the F*** up O'Bree', and it is that simple...

great post and agree 100%. They need to shut up or the club needs to do it for them. If you have a problem you deal with it after the came with video and cool heads. The umps are not going to get it right all the time just play to their decision and get on with it.

Maxwell annoys me the most for this as its the sort of example a captain needs to be seen dealing with well. I like his play but when he whines I just want to die of embarrassment.
